My mate was saying that it is not possible that my Graphics card can get lower than the Ambient Temp in my case. Is it possible with good enough cooling that you can cool get your GPU to sit at Temps lower than youe System Case Ambient Temp.??

Not a chance without water cooling or some mad scientist type methods. All air cooled GPU's draw there air from the case. If you could route plumbing to bring in air from outside solely for the gpu it could bring temp's down but I don't believe you will ever be lower than case temp out the back of the GPU.

Either all the temp sensors are borked, or you're sitting there wearing a heavy sweater with a window open.
If it helps any most of the reviews for the GTX 460 had the temps ranging from the mid 30's to mid 40's at idle. Bear in mind some of those reviews, the testing was done out of a case.

Well my Pc has 9 fans in total and a damn good cpu cooler, my GTX 460 has a nice and decent size fan as well. Some modifications have helped keep my heat down. It also helps when you live in a cold country lol.

It always matters, which specific sensors a program tries to access and what (if any) method they employ to prepare the data for output. So if you get an offset (say your real temp would be 20 C higher than what CPUID tells you you could still use it to monitor you just add the offset to know what would be the real temp.

It's like perpetual motion you may get close but never achieve it. Any electronic device unless it's a peltier cooler will operate at a higher than ambient temp when voltage is applied. The net rise may be low but measurable. In a GPU as much energy as it draws IMO there's not a snowballs chance in Hell that it can operate at or lower than ambient temp. But sensors and measuring techniques are so variable that one needs highly calibrated instruments to know for sure which none of us have to be 100% accurate.......nor is this needed as getting close is all we really need to be safe.
