Not genuine or valid?

Hey everyone!
Well a few days ago I encountered a problem when I turned my computer on.

The problem was when i did an update for MSE (Microsoft Essentials), out of nowhere it said something like,
"Please validate you windows it is not a valid copy of Microsoft corporation." something like that. It also said i have 30days to valid windows or else MSE will stop protecting my system.

So I freaked and shut down my computer from the off switch from the power supply and rebooted.
When I rebooted everything was sufficient, running smooth, all that good stuff. Till this day nothing has happened.

Should I be worried?
Did I do something I wasn’t support to do?

However, I’m not worried anymore cause my windows 7 is legit!

Huh? Why turn it off at the wall socket? I don't get that...

If your OS is genuine, then its valid and you have nothing to worry about. Does your activation still show as being valid?

It's genuine and when I checked system properties it said "valid your windows."
So, right at that moment I got all scared and hit the switch. I don't know why that came over me, but I did it.
Everything is fine now I guess but, when I did that switch off and turned it back on, I checked system properties it was ok.
