Hey everyone!
My uncle is a older man and forgets things, he asked me to find out how to unlock his computer & what better way to do it by asking my friends from windows 7 forums! :)
he has a pw when he logs in, but forgot it.
Is there anyway to get it or remove it?

this method works for 32bit.

yeah it's just for my uncle.
I downloaded it and put it on a disk and tried it on mine, but nothing went on.
Just a black screen and just black.

how long has he had the password on the system? Was it set when the OS was installed or did he put it on recently...

If the password was put on recently you may be able to run the recovery manager either from the F key at startup or by inserting the OS disc and booting from that.

This is worth a try....

Use the windows 7 boot disk an boot into command prompt....

Once you are into command prompt...

You need to enable the administrator.. by default it is turned off with no password.

by typing: net user administrator /active:yes

That will enable the administrator...
I am not sure how to do it from there but you must log into the command prompt under the admin. I think you may have to reboot or get out of the command prompt and log into the prompt under the admin...

Then you can use this command to change your user password:

net user [username [password | *] * being your password to whatever you want

or I found this...
