Right you are. Sorry, I was using $200 as those were the SSD's referred to in the 13th response to this thread.

So in this case, it's essentially the same price, just 33x less storage capacity, with 2.5x the raw speed.

Yeah, as much as I love the SSD for the OS, it is definitely not ready as large data storage media - just too costly.

That was a best deal of the day awhile ego, the Crucial C300 64GBs for 99.99 is for today:

Newegg.com - Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC064MAG-1G1 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Get a 2.5" USB 3.0 enclosure, like this one:

Newegg.com - KINGWIN ATK-25U3-BK Aluminum 2.5" Black USB 3.0 External Enclosure

And you have portable USB 3.0 that is backward compatible to USB 2.0 and cost less than most of the 64GBs USB 2.0 flash drive. Not to mention that it would also cost less than the Enyo or the Kingstone mentioned earlier.

The catch is that the case supports only SATA I/II drives. While the C300 will work just fine with SATA II, the type of USB to SATA conversion chip used isn't known. It may or may not perform like the earlier mentioned Kingstone HyperX that also didn't use as fast conversion chip as the Enyo did.

In either case, it'll beat any USB 64GBs flash drive throughput rate hands down...
