Gigabyte makes a good board ;)
And yes that card will install just fine. (PCI Express) I don't know Nvidia drivers so much perhaps someone that does can chime in.

Should be OK.

The Gigabyte board has onboard graphics. I get the impression that disabling those can sometimes be a bit of a pain, but the odds are that you'll have no trouble. (I've never owned a motherboard with onboard graphics.)

You may want to look a bit longer for a graphics card. For the price of the above card, you may be able to get a 9800GT or a Radeon HD 4670. (That's if your power supply is up to those more powerful cards.)

If you're in the US or Canada, you might want to check the graphics card listings at www.newegg.com. (I have no connection with them, except as a customer.) Try their Power Search: you want PCI-E 2.0 X16 or 2.1 X16, and DirectX 10, 10.1, or 11. (That'll exclude the 9500GT, I believe.) A 128 bit (or wider) path to the card's video memory would be good, too.

On Page 37 of the downloadable manual for the board (IGX Configuration, in the BIOS settings), is an item for Internal Graphics Mode. The choices are UMA and Disabled. When set to Disabled, the onboard graphics controller is turned off.

You may only need to do this to prevent onboard memory from being allocated to the card. The BIOS may be smart enough to not do that if a PCI-E graphics card is installed, though.

I don't know what graphics card to recommend. If you want to run Crysis at full res on a 30" monitor (2560 X 1600), I don't know whether two GTX580s in SLI would be adequate. (Or what CPU would be required to push them.) If you're running solitaire at 1680X1050, any card that supported Aero would do. (I exaggerate only for clarity.)
