Nice package. If you add 2GBs of RAM and $100 for an SSD, you have a really nice system for appr. $350 - I guess you need an OS too, but a Win7 OEM will do. - or Linux?

For $250, why not buy a netbook?

(I'm not being a Smart-Alec - I assume there is a good reason, but just don't know what it is.)

I don't have a Nook, but instead have a Kindle. As far as reading books go, I'd rather do it on the Kindle than any laptop, netbook or tablet. It's small, balanced nicely and runs 4-6 weeks on a charge. And the 3G coverage is free from Amazon.

The Nook is Barnes And Noble e-reader. Just like Amazon, the 3G versions of the Nook are $50 more expensive then the wi-fi only versions.

Thanks for the clarification. I had hoped you could get a cheap general 3G access. They really make it diffícult to live on a budget.
