Hello,

I do a fair amount of changing the Default and selecting the sound card that I use for various programs.

If I do a search with "sound," the Change Soundcard Settings option appears.

I click on it, and get the small screen that allows one to pick the cards for Playback, Recordings, and the Default one, etc.
No problem here.

Question: is it possible to have the screen show up continuously in the Task Bar, or generate a shortcut for the Desktop that would open it up ?

A bit of a pain to have to do a "Search" each time I want to use it.

Thanks,
Bob

Just seen your post sitting there with no response. Couldn't just leave it. Yes you can create a shortcut.
Click the start button and in the right pane click on Control Panel. There you will see "Sound" Right click on this and choose "Create Shortcut" now a shortcut will appear on you desktop!

From OP Again: Placing Of Shortcut(s) On Bottom Bar ?

Hi again,

Not important, but just wondering.

I created the shortcut as you suggested; works just fine.
Shortcut resides on my Desktop.

I tried to place it on the bottom bar, but it won't allow doing so.
Neither to the right or the left ends of the bottom bar.

Seems like I can place other shortcuts there.

What are the "rules" that allow for some shortcuts to be placed there, and others not ?

Thanks again, and best regards,
Bob

Are you dragging and dropping or using the right click " Pin to taskbar" function?

From OP:

Hi,

Have tried just about every way.

And, the Pin to taskbar option never, ever, comes up.

Can you get it to stick to yousr taskbar ?

You are right what you say. I have investigated this further and this seems to be the definitive answer;
It seems to be definitely the case(for good reason) that only desktop
shortcuts to applications will show the pin to taskbar option when right
clicked. So if you have other stuff on your screen (Computer, recycle
bin, documents etc.) they will not show that option.
No I can't add it to my taskbar. Sorry I should have tried that before replying to you.
Seems you are stuck with just the Shortcut on the desktop!
