Crysis 2 ... anybody got it yet?

Using the visor can help if you can actually get to use it. Usually though I aim for the highest point and cloak up when I get near.. I haven't been bothered by too many hackers neither although the SP campaign still has most of my attention.
After playing through twice I'm going to (try) wait for the DX11 patch before going through it again.

I often wonder why MP bundles people together w/o some sort of reference to it. What I mean is that if one guy has 100 XP, which to me it means it has an automatic weapon with sights and all the bells and whistles and the other dude has 1 XP (barely with a sling shot) why put them to fight each other?

Why can the servers be more equal? say people with 80 xp to 100xp play here and people with 0 to 25 xp somewhere else, etc, etc, etc... does this not make sense?

Well one of the real problems with multiplayer in this game is it was released with autoaim included in the scripting. Add that to the dev kit that was released with the leak. Anyone that wants to hack in crysis 2 can do so quite easily. Their cheats are will even be registered as legitimate content by the game.

Makes alot of sense to me, but havent seen any MP games that have actually incorporated it into the game yet,..
However u can start on Rank 1 in MP and still use the scar whit reddot sight on it from the beginning, so the difference isent that big, as in other games,..
And though scar isent the "best"
(depends on your playstyle anyway, i know) -weapon in the game, its definetly what 80% of People use, regardless of rank,..

K, they disabled the autoaim, whit last patch, and i thought it could only be used whit controllers?, guess not,
But its usally aimbot or suithacks that get my attention, theyr easy to spot right away,..

Well I've never played a mp game that was hack proof.
The size and diligence of the game hack community is truly incredible.

There are some games however, where commonsense and real time strategy can overcome even a idiot aimbot hacker without a lot of difficulty.

With Crysis you have to realize the complete dev kit is floating around out there, it was in the leaked release on the torrents and newsgroups.
Anyone willing to spend a little time with it could easily bend the game to their will.
All a aimbot is generally doing is placing a ridiculously overpowered ai on the player character.

To me hacking the MP side is like using cheat codes for SP since the beginning of the game just to show off to your friend that you were able to finish the game in 30 seconds flat... what is the fun in that?

Don't get me wrong, I have used cheats but, only for those pesky Boss Fights that make no sense to me, once I am passed that, I disable it and continue dying like a man

Well to me there is no problem with sp cheats, you aren't affecting anyone but the ai, and it's not programmed to care.
You start using them in MP and it's a completely different set of circumstances though.

yer i cheat allot in SP games too, mostly mods for rpg games, like being abel to carry 1000 kg, so i dont have to run to the traders all the time to sell all the stuff i collect from bodies and the like, but cheating in MP is just a good way to ruin it for everybody else,.. never done it, never will,..

Crytek should host all player stats on the servers, instead in a cfg file in the rootfolder of crysis2,
that would solve the problem,..

Too many Console kiddies who can't play an FPS without auto aim.
Too many losers in all Multi-Player games on line to make it worth playing them.

Lan Parties are still the best way to go.
And yes, I do mean lug your desktop and monitor to your friends house and play on a closed Personal Lan.

He he, havent heard of Lan parties in 10-15 years now,.. thought that was a thing of the past,.. No,.. my PC stayes on my desktop thank you very much,..

I dont think anyone on PC, plays whit controllers, they dont stand a chance in hell of ever competing whit a mouse for aiming, (even whit autoaim) thats why consoles and PC versions of the same game, dont play together online, and never will,..
its been tried several times, and the people on controllers, is gettin theyr asses handet to them, and the mouseplayers dident even break a sweat doing it,..

- it's just a kill-fest for the experienced players, noobs don't stand a chance..
- last night, at one point I was spawning and being shot instantly over and over and over again..

- utterly pointless and stupid..!!:banghead:

without proper balancing of gameplay, there simply is no point..

I can definetly agree, they need to change the way People spawn in this game,
but you must have been extremly unlucky last night,..:huh:
ive tried it too somtimes, but not over and over again,..

I don't do multiplayer games but I would imagine practice and experience will eventually catch up; though I'd imagine it's quite frustrating nonetheless - trying to gain that experience yet getting killed for trying. Definitely sounds like a balance system is needed.

Outside of that.... what's up with the DX11 patch? Any news?

This is exactly how I felt about 10 to 15 yrs ago... when I first tried to get into MP playing.

Add all of the above to something that, up to this day has scared me and will scare me for life... Imagine this is the first time you actuall get into a Multiplayer Game, a Shooter Game no less, you spawn, and very s l o w l y start walking down an alley (I think it was Counter Strike), I am sweating bullets already and my heart is pumping at 1000%, even my wife can hear it downstairs, all of a sudden, I see something that made me do a triple take... a Guy jumping up and down (while running? :shock: ) like he has just gone crazy.

After I died 10 times in a row without even firing my weapon at least once, I understood why people were doing that dance jump while playing a shooter game... and I never looked back.

LOL great story , (my heart also races at 1000 MPH when playing crysis 2 MP)
but i had about the same feeling when trying counter strike first time,
-and like you, never have played it since,
but that game have an extremely steep learning curve,
and i can now see crysis 2 MP is somwat similar to that experience,. - IF u havent played any other MP shooters since then,..

Freaking out everytime you're in mp might explain why you do poorly.
I'm not the greatest player in the world, but I am in the top 3rd of every game I play online and in the top 90% of several others, despite being out of practice I can still jump in at any time and do quite well.

I get this because I don't get emotional, and I think straight. Real time tactics will beat out catlike reflexes more often than not. A clear head and a bit of focus are really your best tools in online games. Not a bunch of fancy hardware or a mouse that costs 200 dollars. (I still use a old school 5 button intellimouse ...mostly because I'm left handed and I can't get a better model that works for me)

Anyhow there is almost always a way to win, sometimes you are just gonna lose though, whether by your own fault or a failure of a team.

I hope you have a computer build with fine dwarven craftmenship deep in the mines of middle earth and imbued with magic powers. Given it's requirements to run well at high options in dx9, I seriously doubt there is a computer in existence that will run it properly in full dx11.
