I'm curious, the time given by this app is considerably greater than that given in the Event Viewer. It is my guess that this counts the entire time from when the Real-Time button is pressed, until returning to desktop, instead of starting at the first Windows screen. R-T's method is more realistic, but less useful for diagnostic purposes, since it even would include shutdown and BIOS screen times. Am I correct?

If I understand the process correctly, you are correct. Restart time includes shutdown, bios time, and windows loading time. Bootracer starts when windows begins to load.

If you will notice, the better restart time are by those who have SSDs. Get an SSD and wour restart time will improve alot.

That is one reason that I may never match them...unless SSDs come down in price a lot.

This is my regular startup profile including Avast 6, Wuala virtual storage mount, Rocketdock and Winpatrol free (the latter managing 6 other delayed program starts).

Quite surprised and pleased as I've not checked in a while...

I know it's not nVIDIA related, but that's when I noticed the lag and have been trying to track down the problem in another thread. Have it to around 82-88 seconds now.

No not trying to make you feel bad, just suggesting maybe you need 2 nividis cards. All in good humor. No offence intended.
