We could have gallery of unique png borders, text, logo's and a whole list of items that members can select from..
Then that eliminates one from starting from scratch and using his/her creative mind to make their own sigs.

I'm not into making sigs though I do enjoy them.

As an outsider to this thread I think Dennis has a good idea.

I do understand the basics of the layering- very basic.
There must be a couple of hundred backgrounds floating around between all of you that are making them.
Plus all the layers everyone makes and saves.

It would make it easier making new sigs and allow some of the people new to the process to make sigs and learn the basics of the softwares you use- might even find some new GFX'ers.

Just an outsiders two cents.

I love all the great artist work , here in Windows 7 Forum.

As an insider on this thread I think the sharing of images is a good idea if everyone is up for it. I just hope it doesn't stifle the imagination of those creating unique sigs. So far the variety and innovation amaze me. I truly marvel at the different creations shared here. I like that, other than the obvious general size, and shape limitations, that you never know what you'll see next. The outside the box sigs especially, and extremely creative. A Guy

Hello all

I think it would be a great if you all put some images into a special gallery that has strings attached. Like maybe something along these lines.

1. You have to earn membership into this club...
2. No one could see what is in the image gallery that has not reached a certain level.
3. I think the image club should have it's own tutorial...
4. The image club members should have something like points lets say it has it's own pips or something along those lines.
5. When members reach a certain level just like being a member of the forum you start with nothing and work your way up, then they can join the image club / sense there is no name for it at this point I think the Image club has a nice ring to it...
6. I would say that anyone can be a member of the sigs and avatars as long as they have a little talent and then from there on if they want to go higher then they have to earn it. first to show they want to be a club member and that they have what it takes to be a member...

Just a couple of thoughts, you people are great at this and you should have a special club of sorts.

My only intent on posting some of the backgrounds etc. would be to give someone who is software challenged or trying to learn a chance to assemble a sig and learn to use the software- which ever they choose.

If new people can get a grasp on the basics of the software then they can get creative.

That's not a big problem, Mike When I joined the forums , I knew nothing of graphics . It is the GFX team that built me up . I just followed all the instructions of the seniors .... every time !

For photoshop, there are lots of tutorials : YouTube - photoshop tutorial

I totally agree with Archie.
I knew zero about graphics before joining 7 Forums so I watched, asked questions and started practicing with an old outdated graphic software program.
Then Nick came along and took me under his wing and became my mentor.
I owe a big thanks to Nick, Archie, and the other GFX team for where I am today.

A quick question for the GFX Team...ignoring cost, which (in your opinion) is the "easiest" and/or "best" photo editing software for a complete beginner?

Adobe Photoshop CS5 . The Easiest one !

But , it is not the best alone. Either Photoshop accompanied by Illustrator, or CorelDraw Graphics Suit X5 is the best .

Edit : At the same time, CorelDraw is the toughest one !

If I were you Lava, I would play around with the free ones first. Get use to layers and textures.
Gimp or paint.net are free.
Adobe PS and Corel are for advanced users and they both have a 30 day trial period for you to check out.
