It's good to see you are making plans for the future and a trip to Mumbai with Angie's approval has got to be a SUCCESS not a failure! Albeit a little later than intended.

Trying to obtain Whiskey may be a little harder but I'm sure you have hatched a plan to get some from somewhere! We know how resourceful you are!

You are not failing just postponing, we all need a little time to rejuvenate and this is something you will have to do.

Hi Kari.
I know you're feeling afraid right now, and I've actually spent time in the last few hours trying to think of something to say to you to help make you feel better. I guess when it comes down to it, there's really nothing to say to make your fears magically disappear. However, I may be able to make a suggestion or two that may give you some temporary help.

From what I've been able to surmise, you and your wife seem to be very close. I know, how shocking that a husband and wife are close, but my point is lean on your wife for support and help allay some of your fear. She wants you to, just the same as you would want her to if your roles were reversed.

The only other suggestion I can make is, when that fear and anxiety seem to be overwhelming, try to lay back, take a few deep breathes, close your eye's and in your mind go back to a time and place when you were the most happy. It has worked for me from time to time. I hope it works for you.

If all else fails, tell the Doc to amp up the dosage on the happy pills. That's what their there for. I'm not a religious man in the traditional sense Kari, but I always like to cover my bets so I will pray that the Light of His Healing Hands protect you and deliver you back to good health. I think I can safely say that all of us here and everywhere look forward to hearing good news about the success of your operation and your road back to recovery.

Kari, there's no shame in being afraid in a hospital.

I don't even like getting poked with a needle...I was in the hospital three extra days because I needed shots in the stomach for 10 days, twice a day, and the first three days of the 10, I couldn't give myself the shot! Lucky for me, one of the nurses and her counterpart on the opposite shift spent some time talking me through it....I managed to get through the next week at home doing it, but to this day, I still don't like the needles.

Let Angie and the nurses know of your fear of this upcoming operation, even if you have to type it out and show them the words....they may be able to help you get ready for it the way my nurses got me ready to go home.

Yup. This means that it´s my birthday

I don´t see any gift until now (but put in my wishlist a Bamboo Wacom and a Corsair Graphite 600T ).

I´m at school, right now, and I want to give a warm and great Thank You to all those geek, nerd, and insane people that´s jumping in my PM box today.

You rock, guys. You are awesome, girls.

I´m happy with this "new family" that I find in these forums.

All the best Kari My eldest son was born with epilepsy among other things and I have gone through a lot of hospital visits and one very big OP. With out going into details I was also very afraid for my then 9 year old and like you they took a lot of time to deicide when to operate. Afterwards I learnt that this time was spent deciding how to operate to get the best possible results.
I'm thinking of you and remembering how I felt all those years ago and I'll say it again, you have some of the best Doctors in the world looking after you.
Now hurry up and get well again!!
