It doesn't matter what I'm doing, my pc could be idle and yet it crashes at least 3 - 4 times a day and some days not once. Someone please help me. Ever since I built this pc I've been having this problem. I've attached my Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 and the perfmon.html file.

I'm running an OEM version of Windows 7 X64, and I've tried more than a few versions.
Using ESET as my virus protection.

Note that you're getting 0x124 stop errors, and the 0x124 code is WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR, which means your system's CPU reported a hardware error that could not be corrected without stopping the system. Windows thusly bugchecks to stop the system to avoid further damage to your computer. Your dumps indicate the problem is an undocumented (by Intel) hardware error that isn't defined or classified in the known Intel CPU WHEA codes. Also note that updating drivers will not help you at this point, as the problem is not software-related:

In table B-5 from the Appendix of the Intel Nehalem Software developer's manual (PDF document here - it's pretty big), we can tell that we need to look in section 15.3.2.2 of the actual SDM (again, PDF here - it's bigger ;)) to decode what machine check error "0xfa00000000400405" means - it's an unclassified/undocumented internal Intel CPU error code. Unfortunately, since it's not documented, I cannot tell you specifically what the problem is. I can, however, tell you the problem is in fact being reported from the CPU directly, and you should be contacting Intel for further support so they can tell you specifically what the error is (it might not actually be a hardware issue, but it doesn't look good). I've seen this error be caused by incorrect BIOS settings for memory (RAM) speed and the multipliers being too high (for example, running 1333 memory at 1066). Usually, though, this is a bad CPU. It's worth making sure your CPU speed and memory timings in the BIOS are correct, though. Otherwise, you probably want to contact Intel for analysis before trying to replace hardware, just to be sure, if it really is a bad CPU.

Get this, I talked to Intel's online support and he said that my memory is not compatible with any Intel CPU because their CPU's can only run memory up too 1066MHZ. That's a load of crap. I've got buddies that are running practically the same machine as me with no problems. What is your take?

That's their default reply, the CPU can and does run higher frequency RAM.

Let's take a look at your CPU and RAM settings.

Can you download CPUZ and post a snip of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs.

For posting the information , enter 'Snipping tool' in the Start button > Search box, hit enter. Select the area you want to post and save to a convenient place.

My Ram is 1600MHZ and the guy at intel told me all their cpu's only run at 1066Mhz. I checked the older cpu's and some were 1066/1333Mhz.

What CPU do you have from them? 1066Mhz is on the slow side nowadays.

The RAM frequency settings look good.

Can you check your BIOS for the voltage settings?

Use Real Temp to check the CPU temps when at idle, under load and/or testing.
Let us know the minimum and maximum temps you get.

Go to your BIOS and tell us what the CPU, RAM and the CPU integrated memory controller voltages are.

Have you overclocked the CPU?
Or is that a turbo mode setting?

Looks like no overclocking, is this correct?
Have you ever OC'ed this rig?

Those idle temps seem a little high for a stock CPU cooler, but within range. You might want to consider getting an after market CPU cooler, they are good ones in the $25-50 range. You can consider this after the crash source is found.

First run memtest86+, with all RAM cards installed and at current voltages and settings. If you get any errors, stop the test and report here. Best to run the test over night, just watch it for a couple of hours for errors.

When you run memtest86+ you are looking for bad RAM cards, bad motherboard slots, so you need to follow the testing procedure in the tutorial.
Sometimes errors from these tests can be corrected by adjusting the settings.
RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Is there a specific reason you lowered the RAM voltage from 1.65v to 1.50v?
Did you have any crashes before lowering the voltage?

If you want to lower the DRAM (DIMM) voltage you need to lower the DRAM frequency first.
The CPUZ SPD tab is the Corsair list of recommended timings, frequencies and voltages. Use this to set the RAM timings.

If you want to run the RAM at 1600MHz, then put the DIMM Voltage back to 1.65v.

With more than 4GB RAM I would bump the CPU VTT voltage, that's the CPU integrated memory controller.
Bump the CPU VTT voltage to 1.25v, but only with DIMM Voltage of 1.65v at 1600MHz.

Run memtest86+ again.

Ok so I just did a fresh windows install with SP1 a week ago and all the windows updates are done. The same day I got the BSOD again. This is still happening at least once a day.
With this fresh windows install i don't have spy bot installed ATM.

About the missing windows drivers, where do I check or what should I give you to see if they are still missing?

I have not OC'd my PC, it's running stock at 2.8 GHz.

As for my system temperature, I did buy and currently is installed this Heatsink & Fan Newegg.ca - COOLER MASTER Hyper N 520 RR-920-N520-GP 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Intel Core i7 compatible
Also, on my Mobo, there's a temp and it usually reads between 25 - 29.

So I just finished running Memtest and last night when i tried running it using V4.0 it wouldn't start so i ran option 2 which is the previous version and this did work. It ran for 9 hours and did 10 passes with 0 errors.

I had lowered the RAM voltage just to try and see if that was the cause because the Intel guy had told me they're CPU's only run RAM at 1.5 V but it still crashed. I ran the memtest at 1.65V.

I have yet to increase the CPU VTT voltage and I will try that now.

I just set my CPU VTT Voltage to +0.75mV and the status shows 1.25V. It actually varies from 1.24V to 1.27V but mostly steady on 1.25V.

Good that memtest86+ passed, we will have to run it again later, it takes running it a few times to be sure the RAM is stable.

Is your RAM frequency still at 1600 (800MHz)?

With the CPU VTT Voltage set to 1.25v, and RAM voltage at 1.65v, run the Prime95 torture test for two hours. This will max out your CPU and test memory, be sure to watch the CPU core temps closely when it starts up, they should level off in a couple of minutes.

CPU - Stress Test with Prime95
Prime95 Torture test
If memtest86+ passes then run Prime95 torture test.
First open Real Temp to monitor CPU temperatures, don't go over 73°C.
Open Prime95 and stop the test if it is running, in Advanced tab select 'Round off checking', in the Options tab select 'Torture Test...', in the window that opens select 'Blend', after 'Number of torture test threads to run' enter 8, then click OK to start the test.

Your previous CPU core temps are high for an aftermarket cooler, should be lower 30's.
Did you install it?
Is there any thermal paste built up around the edges of the CPU and heatsink interface?

Post the complete dump files if you have another BSoD.

So it's been a month since i set my CPU VTT Voltage to 1.25v and ever since then my windows never crashed. Thank you so much. I think this resolved the problem.
