Hey, i installed the Windows 7 RC1 and have a problem. I am using a Samsung Syncmaster 959nf CRT monitor in the 640x480 resolution when playing Counter Strike. The image is extremely blurry, much like if you run non native resolutions on a lcd monitor. Are there any workarounds for this?

Update.

I have now tried quite a few vista drivers as well. They are not blurry like the Windows7 nvidia drivers. They flicker a lot though. Forgot to mention im using a Geforce 8800 GT. Both the blurring and the flickering appear in OpenGL only not in D3D, but the game doesnt run very well in D3D.

It's not well to run the game in d3d. Try using XP drivers, it works perfectly for me with XP drivers... btw try reforce, it's smooths the game a lot. Remember running as admin! otherwise it won't work..

EDIT: I just saw at the nvidia website, they have drivers for windows 7 too, try downloading and installing those, if not, use the XP ones..

"Solved" my problem by installing Win7 x86 instead of 64bit. OpenGL just will not work for me in 64bit, but works without a hitch using the newest vista x86 drivers.

nice.. what about win 7 drivers?

The win 7 drivers were blurry in w7 x86 also. Hopefully its an issue being worked at, since i would like to make use of all 8 gigs of ram.

counter-strike still windowed

Hey I have tried everything for the last past day having windows 7 64bit installed. I read about 100 forums on how to change the refresh rate, but in my case my monitor(Viewsonic ultrabrite A90f+) is so old that it doesnt show up in phoenix to edit it. I am running it on a 8800 GTS 640mb vid card. I even tried running admin reforce 100hz for 640x480 still no luck. I am just about to go back to windows XP 32 because this is such a damn hassle(but I don't want to really). Looked at every single tutorial related to this problem still nothing. Appreciate any comments on this problem just so I can be a step further.

Exactly same problem here, used Reforce with xp aswell. Tried several programs now which none of them work. Using Samtron 98pdf, used to playing with 1024x768 @ 100hz, can't get more than 85hz now.
