The Intel RST drivers will work on any Intel chipset listed here.

It also provides AHCI support on:

All the Intel RST driver should work on his mobo/chipset.

There should be another controller listed, check the driver on it.

It is possible. but he showed us the ahci driver page which was an older Intel version. Also, I believe the version he has installed doesn't support trim which means he is better off with msahci.

Dave, also he said the Marvel were esata ports.

If the other controller is listed and has the msachi driver then that is the one he should install the RST drivers to.

2- Marvell's are 6.0Gbs

2- JMicrons are eSata external. One on board and one front with internal cable to mo board.

6- SATA 3.0Gbs

3 totally separate controllers.

Just got home will try the newer driver again that Dave posted.

For some reason none of Intels drivers/software that I have tried that are using the Macrovision installer will open.
My Windows does not like that installer.
Nothing else I have will open Macrovision to extract the files.
So for now the ASUS/Intel driver is all that will install. It is a download/folder with a seperate installer.

The Intel drivers will probably work but Macrovision installer isn't working or being opened/files extracted by Windows.

Black eSata has ESata cable from front panel. The other eSata is a rear panel on board direct plug.

White Marvells are empty.

4 of 6 Intel Sata's in use. One is designated per manual as the CD/DVD plug in. Others can be used but they say to use this one if using one and then plug in other CD/DVD drives.
Two are my HDD's. One is the SSD.

Mike, when I have problems with installers I boot to safe mode, and use the Safe MSI app to enable windows installer in safe mode. I have to do it for 7zip for some reason. Has always worked.

Thanks I just tried it. No joy!
The Safe MSI software works but the driver still would not install.

At least a dialogue box opened and asked if I wanted to RUN the software.
Click RUN the cursor spins for about 2 seconds then nothing.
That is more than I was getting in regular mode.
Rebooted and checked. No new driver.

Thanks for this discussion. I had installed the IRST and found no increase in performance, and a slight decrease, so I went back to the msahci image. But just now ran Drivermax Pro, and it found the newest intel driver by itself. I now show the iaStor driver instead of the generic Standard ahci 1.0 Serial ATA ver. 1. something the OS installed.



The scores are all about the same, so I'll stick with it.

Sorry I wasn't around to help. Of course, I couldn't have come up with the answers you got from Guy. We had a thunderstorm and the power was out for several hours. (this is Florida you know). Puters don't work real well without electricity.

The drivers from Intel would not install even in safe mode. Something about the installer Windows didn't want to open or run it.
DriverMax was a snap.
Appreciate all the help for the past week.
