Firefox 3.5 RC3 Released

I just love firefox's add ons so much, I'll never use another browser. Here's what I use.

Adblock Plus (blocks ads, duh)

Auto pager (automatically displays the 'next page' without having to refresh)

Download status bar (eh, nothing major, just shows your downloads at the bottom of the screen on the bar, its convenient)

Download helper (to download videos)

old bar (changes the address bar back to the way it used to be, just the address, not the page title too.)

Puny url (all I have to do is click the icon, and it automatically shortens a link, and can be pasted right away, very convenient)

Read it later (pretty cool, for sites I plan to check out, but aren't quite 'bookmark' worthy i guess, lol)

secure login (LOVE this... it's like Opera's want, remembers your username and passwords. Click it, and it logs you in)

Web of trust- pretty good, useful when I'm visiting sites which could have spyware, like sites I visit a lot with por...... i mean, educational documents.

Very interesting collection of add-ons =P

I just use Weave and a theme called Office Black 2007. Not really into add-ons.

what's this auto pager add-on? sounds interesting but can't find it in the list of add-ons.

By the way my favourite firefox add-on is noscript, it let's you configure what scripts to run and not run on site, great way to stop those sties from collecting infomration about you and how you browse like googleanalatics, and also give you more security from those sites that run scripts that are harmfull. eazy to configure you can tell it to run basically trust sties that are on your bookmarks, for the rest the default is it won't run scripts, but you can tell it which sites to trust or not trust, also what kind of scripts should be avoided for all sites. for me I stop all the sites that try to run scripts from googleanalatics globaly.

Firefox combined with noscript is a very secure browser. and without noscript I think it's not more secure than IE/

Does anyone else notice its takes a while for the RC to open up? Its lightning fast when its open, but first time loading after windows boot it takes forever in comparison. I am going to assume they will fix that for the final release.

wow just tried firefox 3.5 rc as well as auto pager I love them! the new way tabs are organized in firefox 3.5 is better, like the + icon which let's you open up a new tab, better than having to use CONTROL-T all the time. all the add-ons that I use are working fine too, so far so good

All is fine for me, remember its still in RC so there are bound to be bugs that have yet to be fixed. You could just be one of those unlucky few that are affected by the bug. :(

Yeah, I figured it might be something like that. I wasn't upset about it, just was wondering if anyone else was having the same difficulty. Can't wait until the final is release, I am enjoying the experience very much so far.

If your talking about IE you do not need to hit control-t, just click the little empty tab to the right of all the others.

Also, for IE users with FF addon envy. Try "IEPro" which adds a lot of the features mentioned in the last few posts in one shot, incluing spell check, DL manager, gestures, ad block etc etc.

You know...I want to fall back in love with Firefox and so far I have been impressed with the 3.5 release candidates, but Chrome swept me off my feet with their 2.0 release. These RC's just haven't been enough to sway me back full-time. I simply use Firefox for sites that Chrome has difficulty rendering.

I agree, Chrome is faster and is now my main 'surfing' browser, however I do use Firefox for all the other Video/Download type needs.
