I just recently upgraded my motherboard...everything is fine...works great....got two sticks of Mushkin DDR3 ram 8gigs total....no problems.....well one little problem, or should I say "two" little problems....I have two EMPTY ram slots and it's killing me:cry:.

Would it be worthwhile, or should I install the smallest sticks that would work,:confused:

DDR3 is not due to be replaced for at least 6 months.
Samsung is already making ddr4 chips from what I understand

I agree with everyone else here Ivan.:D

You may notice a slight improvement doing heavy Video conversions or something. Overall not a big bang. I'm "limping" by on 8GB too. But in your situation, I'd go for the 16GB.

I've been pondering the whole RAM stick issue. I am still curious to know whether 4 2g sticks will outperform 2 4G sticks. Glad you got your itch scratched. :D

Me too LS, I think...think that 2x4GB would be faster than 4x2GB. My reasoning is there are fewer connections on one module, haven't seen any real evidence though.

I guess it would depend on how the information in the ram was divided up? Not sure...

Let me know if you see any difference at all...I would say that it's highly unlikely if you measure your normal day-to-day tasks.
