Solved Cant Change or Uninstall Office 2010

For some reason I cant change or Uninstall Office 2010.

When I try to launch the installer, I get a Setup Error that says Only one instance of the installer can run but that doesn't make any sense. How can there be installer running when I just restarted the computer and logged on.

How can I fix this? please help.

Uninstaller

Download the free version of Revo Unistaller and use it. Finsh the process by downloading and using microsofts msicuu2.exe. Once that is complete your installer may be working.

well office is removed but now i cant install office 2010. im still getting the error

If you download and use ccleaner, any remnants of the old software should be removed and you should be able to install.

Are you using Autorun off the disc or are you running Setup from one of the folders?

well CC Cleaner worked. had to restart finally got office 2010 installed properly.

I think that has changed.

"While the Windows Installer Cleanup utility (MSICCU2.EXE) resolved some installation problems, it sometimes damaged other components installed on the computer. Because of this, the tool has been removed from the Microsoft Download Center."

Be carefull using CCleaner too. Downloading and just running with the default settings will remove some things you may want to keep.

Cant argue with adivce to be careful. Using the default settings but unticking any registry items should be sufficient, however.
You may want to look up intelligent scan, so you dont lose the cookies that you want. Just go to the cookie listing and right click.
