Hi,
recently I bought samsung laptop with OEM disc from Samsung. I slipstreamed this SP1 with this DVD and it was the only operation I did with RT7 Lite. Now after installing windows from this DVD, I have information that my key is invalid and I have 3 days for activation. What might be wrong?

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

The product ID is the number generated when you install Windows and is the number that shows the specific version of Windows 7 you have installed.

The product key is used to activate the specific version of Windows that is installed.

If these numbers do not match with what's on Microsoft's activation database, activation will fail.

It's quite possible your Windows 7 SP1 disk has either been slipstreamed incorrectly or there's something wrong with the disk.

I'd be inclined to carry out the slipstreaming exercise again, paying particular attention to the procedure, and then retry the installation.

Have a look at your original OEM disk from Samsung, there should be a $OEM$ folder in the sources folder. If that folder is there, the files in it setup an automatic silent activation and enter the product code for you. You shouldn't be prompted to activate. Sounds like you broke that functionality when you slipstreamed SP 1 in.

Original disk doesn't contain $OEM$ folder :(
And also I did second slipstreamed DVD and result is the same.

The key is fine, its the samsung oem slp key for home premium. Check whether you have kb971033 installed (in windows updates). If you dont, download and install it. You can go to microsoft.com/genuine/validate and do as it says. If its installed, uninstall and then go to that site and do as it says.

Assuming you were using the RT Se7en Lite - Beta (Build 2.6.0) [Service Pack 1 slipstream support]

From the RT7 forum

SP1 integration won't work with OEM Windows 7 Vers

I found out what causes it. The file "ei.cfg" is missing from the "source" directory after slipstream+win-update integration. I have to manually copy it back. Otherwise, if the user chooses the wrong edition from the list, a key is required.

RT7 should not delete it if it exists.

A possibility?

Short answer - not with this Key.
Long answer - The Key in use here is the Default Key for Windows 7 Home Premium, and cannot be activated.
Your motherboard appears to be a Retail one- which means that you should be using a Retail disk (if this is a self-build) - check for the Key in the box, and use the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page to change the Key to that one.
