On my other computer I have set it up to share a drive that is connected to it. Problem is, when I switch off that computer and then switch that computer back on the share has gone. I have to set it up to share again. It is always has the same drive letter, so 'I don't understand why it's losing the share modification'.

Any takers?

It's an external USB drive. I have the same one working on this computer and all is fine.

Have you checked the logs? Also, are both computers nearly identical - ie, do both use x86 Windows 7 Ultimate, have the same type of applications installed, etc?

The computers are the same. The HDD in question worked on my computer that I am using now. But won't work properly on the other computer. I don't know how to check the logs.

Thanks for your help.
I found out that the Drive letter was changing every time it loaded for some reason. This was the problem.
