Hello guys today I ran into this random error or issue with my Windows 7..
Whenever I attempt to access a folder like my downloads, video or documents folder
I get this message...This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.

I haven't installed any programs recently...maybe the changes Ccleaner made to the registry when I scanned for issues?

Anyone know a fix for this?

Yes.... Don't use automatic registry cleaners.

Try and do a System Restore to a date before you ran the registry cleaner.

Or, one fix for your immediate problem is to note the 3 character file extension of the problem files, then go to Start > Control Panel > Default Programs > click "Associate a File type or Protocol with a Program" > and scroll down the list to find your extension, and the manually associate it with the proper/preferred program using the "Change Program" button on the top right.

If you made any changes in the registry, using CCleaner, then you should have a back-up in your Documents starting with cc-**** (* indicating random numbers)
See if they're there, then click to restore the backup.

Thanks guys after looking deeper into the issue I can safely determine this was caused by a Windows update.
Now I'll be very cautious when performing future updates.
fortunately I had a restore point dating back 7/30/2011.
as always your help is very much appreciated guys :D
