Solved How do i hide the 100MB partition?

The system reserved partition was 200MB in the early betas - for some reason Microsoft reduced it to 100MB ;)

Probably because everyone was complaining about it's very existence but it's turning out to be a very useful addition if one has the primaries to spare; here's an excellent reason for its creation.

Yes you can boot the newer OS on a logical drive as long as teh active drive is a primary - I found that out during the Beta test days, by accident.

I had my original vista partition and several betas of win7 running at the same time and only when in the disk management, for some reason noticed that win7 was happily running on a logical drive which i'd installed to by mistake

When you install Windows 7 / Vista, if no other partition is created as "Active" it will place the boot store on the first primary partition.

To hide SysReserved partition, remove the drive letter.

Glad it helped.

Much easier than removing SysReserved, which also can remove the Repair Console from F8 Advanced Boot options.

You can remove and reassign drive letters from/to any partition that isn't the currently running Windows system. No data will be harmed.

Kari's method works fine if you reassign the drive letter to a or b first. Then the option "restrict a and b" covers it. Since I don't have a floppy drive, I don't mind hiding both.

Why do you have a letter assigned to it? The install process does not assign a letter to it. If you remove the letter it will only show in computer management as a reserved partition.

how to hide 100MB system reserved partition?

1. Start > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management(Local) >
System Reserved Partition > Right Click > Change Drive Letter & Path > Select > Remove > Ignore Warrnings And Fish ( DONE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ~ )

I have done it myself after searching online for hours, just because I installed and updated my windows so I was worried about Re-Installing it and so I took the risk and WORKS FOR ME!!!~

Simply Remove the "Drive Letter" of system reserved partition. :)

2. Should I ignore the message when trying to change the "Drive Letter"???
3. YES!~ ignore it and restart the windows > Log Off > Restart :)
