Hello, what's the account at logon screen, and how do I change it's settings, all I need is to customize default keyboard layout and turn on Num Lock state.

At logon screen no account is signed in, but there is a way to do it:
- open start menu, type in 'language'
- hit enter
- select Administrative tab at the top
- click Copy settings
- check 'welcome screen and system accounts'

Cheers! :)

edit: Type 'regedit' into start menu and hit enter, now backup the settings by File > export.
Navigate to HKCurrentUser->Control Panel->KeyBoard->InitialKeyboardIndicators.
Edit 'InitialKeyboardIndicators' key and set it to 2!

That layout is not so important, I use numbers in my account password and always at logon scr the numlock is OFF, I often forget to turn NumLock ON so get wrong password, I think it's something like System account but don't know where can I access it's user profile.

The NumLock state can be turned ON in the BIOS.
It is set to on by default, and it doesn't last as far as windows gets to logon screen AFAIK.

That's not on my BIOS. I have checked all pages and there's nothing about NumLock state. It's true that NumLock is default off after boot. It turns on not sooner till I login to my account, unless I turn it on self. I remember on my old PC the NumLock state was on after boot by default, and so it was at logon screen. So I'm not sure if Windows adpt current NumLock state or set it OFF from system account.

Thanks, this didnot work firstly. Then I applied this tweak to HKEY_USERS\.Default and it did the trick. Now I get to logon screen with NumLock turned ON :cool:
