For the most part, yes its all you need.

You'll get a few different opinions, but I use Malwarebytes & SpywareBlaster with Norton.
Niether of these will interfer with anything Norton already does. And although Malwarebytes has never found anything, its still a good idea to have IMHO.

Malwarebytes is good for occasional On-Demand scans.
SpywareBlaster works really well in combination with any AV Suite. It simply blocks know bad sites by adding them to your web broswers blacklist.

Hi yeabuddy,

I am very happy with my NIS 2011 (NIS 2012 will be coming out very soon, by the way, and as a customer of Norton 2006 or later products, you can upgrade for free to the latest version with a current subscription). I also have the free version of Malwarebytes installed alongside NIS 2011.
And yes, Norton removes tracking cookies. It offers you three ways to handle cookies: you can have them automatically removed, ignored, or you can have Norton ask you.

If you have any other antivirus program already installed on your computer, please remove it with the vendor's removal tool (available at the vendor's website) before installing NIS 2011.

Well ... many will disgree but heres my personal opinion:
(Which is really what this subject ultimately comes down to)

I find it better off staying with Norton IS.
I do not see the benefit of 360 myself. NIS 2011 itself is excellent however.
But the rest, theres better options out there, many of which are free.

For backups, Acronis.
However, there are also a couple free alternatives that work just as well for many.
Macrium for example.

For cleanup and maintenience, again free applications.
Between whats already included with Windows + Ccleaner.

Cleaning up temporyary junk, defragmernting and managing startup items are the main things to keep your system running well.
You do not really need anything special to do this though.

Managing startup items etc is actually quite simple. It can even be done through Ccleaner if you so choose.
Everything else Windows can do itself.

I'm running win7 w/ MSE for over a year w/o a glitch, touch wood. Work in a standard user account. Use a modern browser, IE9 even if you prefer. Why pay more? What do I gain? Can malware really bypass antivirus software and browser protection?

If you live in the United States, you can get Norton Internet Security for free after a rebate (offer ends 24 August): Newegg.com - Symantec Norton Internet Security 2011 - 3 User.

I agree with Wishmaster's sentiment regarding Norton 360.

Unless you want the online backup (there are free and paid alternatives), Windows might provide for all your needs.

Norton Ghost 15.0 is currently free after a rebate, though (offer ends 22 August): Newegg.com - Symantec Norton Ghost 15.0 - 1 PC

Follow the link Malexous posted and get the NIS 2011 for free (after rebate) and on the last day of your current subscription you just have to put in the new key and it will renew for a year. Also when NIS 2012 is released you get a free upgrade. The key numbers are good for 1 year after first use with free upgrades to new versions. My current subscription of NIS 2011 expires in 119 days and I bought a copy of NIS 2011 two Months ago for $9.95 so I will be set for another year.
