remove norton from recovery disc

is it possible to remove norton antivirus from recovery disk created by HP recovery manager?
it's cussing trouble recovering hard drive since it doesnt give access to it's folder to other applications including recovery manager

Sounds more like a bad disk burn, in HP recovery manager when disk were made.

no i'm pretty sure disc are perfectly ok
i cant use vlite, it's not a vista installation, it's windows 7 "RECOVERY DISC" made by "HP RECOVERY MANAGER"

There is a Windows7 vLite. Just Google it. Unfortunately I only get the German versions from Google.

it's not about the version, nLite,vLite,7Lite... they can't manipulate recovery discs they only work with installation discs

and i cant do a fresh install, i have an office prebuilt with the laptop and it's on the recovery discs

i need norton off those discs, any ideas?

Recovery disks are notoriously difficult to manipulate so what are your options?

1) make a fresh set and hope the problem is solved.

2) Order a set from HP, they would be presumably free from manufacturing defects and they dont cost the earth.

3) create an image of the current install with macrium or whichever imaging program you like and restore from that whenever required.

4) restore from the factory partition on the hard disk instead of the recovery disks.

whichever is convenient and possible.

If you have not deleted the Recovery Partition
Pressing the f11 key during startup on a computer with an HP factory image will start the system recovery process even if the prompt is not displayed.

As you would know the HP recovery manager like with other PCs does more than factory restore.
Are you saying you cannot do a factory restore/recovery or are you using it in it's data recovery mode?

The factory restore must work or something is wrong with the restore DVDs or your computer. To get rid of Norton after use Norton uninstall tool.
To backup file/folder or image I would be using Windows or well regarded 3rd party software.

Yes but there should be no need to remove it from a factory recovery disk in the first place. If Norton trial is on the factory restore it obviously shouldn't stop the restore.
The OP needs to give more information on the type of recovery they are talking about.
