How to re-install W7 from Recovery partition?!

Hello,

I would like to re-install my original factory Windows 7 64bit, which came on my Laptop's Hidden Recovery Partition, but I have had problems with that and currently I am using another standalone Windows 7...

A week or so ago - I wanted to re-install my original factory Win7, I clicked F10 to enter setup, clicked to Re-create my system.....

But instead - it started to Format my C: disk, and it was doing it very slow & heavy, and with my weak Laptop - when it is too tired - it switches off each time; the maximum I coul get - the Formatting to go to 75% - some 8 times, and there it stalls, never moves and switches off my laptop - so I felt I'd never finish that;

So, instead - I used another Win 7 from a DVD, and now I am using that; but my Hidden Partition still has the original Win 7;

Now, I wanted to write to a DVD my Original Win 7 - I made the Hidden Partition Unhidden - there are files - but there are almost 10GB size - I don't understand how to write it to a DVD?!

Also - I had an Idea - I have created a large ISO file with UltraISO - I wanted to mount it to Virtual Drive, with Alcohol 120% for example; but then I am confused again - would it work?! - If I will start such an installation on C: disk - my Alcohol app would be gone, and virtual drive also gone?! or not?! - or should I install on another partition?! (but I want it to be primary OS);

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have no idea what is a usb stick, never used & I don't see how it helps me;

also - is it expensive?!

USB flash drives, often called "sticks", should be relatively cheap nowadays. Call one or more of your local computer stores or big-box stores and get a few quotes on: 8GB, 32GB, 64GB sticks. 8GB is large enough for most backup/restore utility boots. 32GB used to be big enough to even house a Windows install (Windows 7 and earlier), very likely a 64GB stick is needed for Windows 10 install, which one gets from downloading the appropriate ISO, and letting an ISO to media converter create the boot stick.
SIW2 and a few others have huge depositories of ISOs to pick from.
I still create DVD boots for both my laptops because sometimes a usb boot doesn't, a dvd almost always boots.

Another way is to split the installation media across several dvds. It is probably cheaper to buy a 16gb usb stick


Another way is to run it from the recovery partition. If you provide a screenshot of your disk management showing all the partitions and the full make and model of your laptop, we can advise how it can be done.

Yes, I would like to run from Recovery partition (I am adding an image with Recovery partition W: seen, but usually it is hidden) - but like I said - I need to skip the Slow Formatting somehow - I have a Sony Vaio laptop, when I tap F10 - it goes into Sony Vaio Recovery Tools mode and then requires me to do Formatting it never finishes, so I am seeking a way to skip that somehow....

There is little thing called mod2wim that can convert the .sny to .wim files

When you have wim files, you can apply them using dism or imagex, or gimagex, or dism++, etc

It will be a wim file called Sony.wim . It can be applied to a partition. Or if it is renamed install.wim it can replace the install.wim in the regular win7 installation media
