Whats wrong with my computer? Games are laggy?
I have a problem, the most games is running low FPS on highest graphics. Games like crysis 2, Battlefield bad company 2, Fear 3 etc. With my computer specs I feel like i should be able to max out graphics and run the games on 60 FPS, cause my friend can max his games and we have the same specs. And yes I have the LATEST DRIVERS for everything in my computer. Is my computer too weak? and also, when i run games in DX11 my graphic card overheats, the fan is working but still it gets overheated. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My Computer Specs are:

Gainward GeForce GTS 450 1gb
AMD Phenom II x6 1055t 2.8 ghZ
Samsung SATA 2.0 1 tb
4 gb memory

Yes as Stormy says.

Are you sure your friend has exactly the same hardware as you? Doe's he run the games at the same resolution as you?

Cheers

Paul.

I would say at least a GTX560 or a HD 6870

Also you need to make sure your power supply is up to the job.

Needs to be a quality branded one with a minimum of 500 watts, preferable a bit more.

Okay thanks for the tips, but also my GTS 450 overheats like hell! ive never OC'd it or anything. When I play BFBC2 on medium I can play a while then it gets overheated and the screen turns white, this happened just a few min ago. Is it broke? or do I need to buy more coolers for it?. I feel like the fan on the card that it comes with should be enough... Its a bit frustrating cause I just put lots of money in upgrading my computer..

Thanks in adv.

Can you find it online? Or if not post a picture of it, preferably with the side panel off.

Nothing on that case that says who it was made, looks to just be a generic mid tower case.

That little 80 mm fan isn't much help. Would get better airflow out the back if you could replace it with a bigger fan, which from the looks of it would be a 92 mm. A bigger fan will move more air and be a bit quieter as well. Also if possible a fan in the front would help with getting cool air in. Maybe even look to mounting a fan over the grill on the side panel to help with cooling the video card, not sure if a 120 mm would fit or not but a 92 mm would help, or if you replace the 80 mm in the back and use it on the side panel.

Another thing that will help with airflow and better cooling is to clean up the wiring as best you can to stop them from interfering with the airflow. You don't have to go this far,

but tucking them out of the way does help.

Okay, I dont have any more fans, and there is not so much space in it for bigger/more fans, should I buy a bigger case? But before I spend any more money on my PC I wanna know if my GTS 450 is broke or not. Cause It overheats on every game I play, even if I turn down the graphics, I even use MSI afterburner to increase the speed of the fan on my GTS 450.. this is really frustrating :/
