Can you upgrade the cpu in a laptop?

Just bought this laptop here. I was looking for an i7 but got a great deal on it so it went ahead and bought it.

Without changing the motherboard or anything. Can i just swap it out like a desktop? I know you can upgrade ram so i wasn't sure.

Usually the CPU is soldered onto the board, and I'm not going to lie, it's a pain in the bumholio to get to it in the first place, but different systems have different CPU's so refer to the operators manual as Thorsen has suggested

If it is socketed, then you can likely upgrade it. I'm surprised that it doesn't list any QMs though. My laptop had the option of a dual-core i7 when I was ordering it (went with a 740 QM instead: I multitask a lot).

Yeah, which is IMO not powerful enough to be even called an i7 (should be labeled a high-end i5 mobile CPU...)
