Hello!
I also have problems with this gadget. I install it, but do not charge anything. It remains a white box that shows the following thing: <! . It is not the only gadget I have problems with: Network meter also does not load and shows the same thing: <! . Another gadget that I have problems with it is ilMeteo, but the problem is different. Here is a screen of my desktop:

immaginegc.png

1 is the gadget ilMeteo, 2 is the gadget of all cpu meter and 3 meter network. Of course I installed core temp. Apart from these gadgets, the others all work (so far).
Here's how I tried to solve the problem:
I used the command prompt type the following commands (Open an advanced command prompt -> choose Run as administrator Type the following and press Enter after each):

regsvr32 msxml3.dll

regsvr32 scrrun.dll

regsvr32 jscript.dll

Restart PC, it did not work
I used WinFix: Restore the Windows Sidebar and restarting, but it did not work
I disabled the UAC and it did not work
I have done scandisk and even this worked
I edited the registry entry Sidebar, giving all permissions to my account but even that worked!
What can I do?! This problem may be due to the fact that having a monitor 23 "use a resolution of 135 DPI?
Thank you all!

Gadget Problem

I don't think it is a monitor problem. The one I have on my Blackbird with a large Dell monitor is still fine. It's my Thinkpad laptop that it stopped working on after more than 2.5 years. My problem is the same as everyone else who has described it here. It is only with the one gadget and I have tried all the suggested fixes. So I guess it is goodbye forever to ALL CPU Meter you piece-o-crap

RDA,

Is it a specific, some, or all gadgets this is happening with? Could you post a screenshot of this to see if anything may stand out?

I have a 64 bit OS. Does that mean I have to change the commands when I run the elevated cmd?

If so, can anyone tell me what commands do I have to enter.

No, the commands in the tutorial above work in both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7. The problem seems to be as you said with that website and it's outdated gadgets on it. You might see if you may be able to find the gadget you wanted from here instead. They should work for you without issue.

Still not working :(

Do you mean the gadgets from the Microsoft link are not working as well?

As a test, create a new administrator account, and see how they work while logged in that account.

Still not working :(

Not here either. It told me that I already had it installed and would I like to replace it so I did. But I still ended up with just that little white square with a < in it. I have Windows Ultimate 64 bit on a Thinkpad x300 but the crazy thing is that I had this gadget running problem free ever since I got the laptop 3 years ago. It worked until a few weeks ago and is still working on my desktop.

Yup the gadgets from the microsoft website that were added by addgadget.com are not working. If I create another account, its going to leave a lot of useless files for me and I am running a bit low on hard drive space. Is there any other solution?

If the new account's works properly, then you could move what you want from the old account to the new account and delete the old account afterwards to regain the HDD space.

Another great idea but I tried it step by step and still no luck. This is certainly a frustrating problem although fortunately it's just a gadget i.e. nothing of real importance.

It is still working fine on my souped up, rebuilt HP Blackbird where this particular gadget is of much more use and interest. On this ThinkPad X300 it's just a toy.

I have a feeling that this problem will only be solved (in my case anyway) by a re-installation of Windows 7 and that sure won't happen until something really serious goes wrong.

Im having these same problems with all the gadgets from Addgadget.com(they were all on Win7 gallery until Microsoft turned off gallery)

Tried every proposed fix, but none worked.
I contacted Addgadget, so lets see what they know about it...

EDIT: Just to you guys know, I ran that scan cmd to check system files, and Ive got millions of reapired files. I got a log with 3500 lines :/
Is it normal, Since I've just installed Windows 2 das ago?

Ok I've eventually found a solution after trying out almost everything. Doing this on Win7 64bit.

Go to: Control Panel -> Internet Options/Properties -> Programs -> Set Programs -> Set Programs Access and Computer Defaults ; Select Microsoft Windows and click 'ok'.

Now check the All CPU Meter gadget, should be working by now.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.
