Update KB968771, Internet Explorer for Windows 7 E User

Why is it dumb?

The people that make the OS cant provide a free web browser that is an integral part of the core operating system because other web browser manufactures cry to the EU due to lack of market share.

Then you get it in a Windows Update ... if thats not dumb i don't know what is :D. Actually being told to promote or " offer" your competitors product in your own product is scandalous. OK Microsoft have the monopoly on PC's. Who's fault is that ?

Lets not forget if it wasn't for Microsoft's OS most of these companies wouldn't even be in business , Either that or fighting for *nix supremacy.

When i spend my hard earned cash i want to get what im paying for. You get enough bloatware when you buy OEM as it is.

Hey Swarfega, if you like IE, you can move into the house across the street from me. That way once you buy 7, you get IE!

/This offer is available to anyone who wants to move to Texas and can afford a... *runs outside, across the street, and picks up a pamplet*... $850,000 (USD). Holy crap!

lol, I do wonder about the "techies" at EU HQ sometimes.

:sarc:
I did not say your life was miserable...I merely meant that the EU's ruiling makes things very inconvenient for anyone wanting to use Windows 7 out of the box . The reason that this is dumb is because your parliament has decided to to go to war against Microsoft to further its own agenda...why haven't they challenged Apple or linux distros or any other software maker for their bundled apps?

PS I will change my original post to not say miserable...it seems to have been taken out of context

Ouch! That hurt my feeling! (I only have one left... :))

I apologize for not being more concise....

One of the things I have liked about this forum is the absence of unrelated US political issues, i.e. not related to technology or its implementation and availabilty.

If Congress were attempting to tax internet access/usage (which has been discussed), restrict DVD copy technology (DRM anyone?) or some other technology issue, then I say...

Let 'er rip! :mad2:
(There are a gazillion political venues for people so inclined...)

Well then let me say this then, since it has RARELY been discussed ANYWHERE. Congress is proposing a "under the table" Bill that would monitor forums, IMs, text messages on phones, e-mails, any kind of communication for anything related to "hate-crime" or "hate-speech", basically anything that deems to them as "unnecessary" which in turn, violates the U.S. Constitution of free-speech and is an invasion of our personal privacy. We are becoming more like the EU everyday.

As far left as I am (RRR - Republicans R Rong :D[lol, it's all love]), I agree that this does violate the constitution. I'm sure it could be debated, though.

Let me also add to the Bill I'm talking about, if you are talking anywhere mentioned above or other way of electronic communication you'll be labeled as a "criminal" until you are successfully charged for said "crime".

Hope I make sense.

I don't believe it has been passed yet, but I hope it won't be taken advantage of if something like it does go through without the media talking about it (except Fox News, as it is where I heard about it). Laws in America can either be of the 2 choices: Taken out of context and exploited or ignored alltogether.

The bill is BS, if you heard it from there. FOX is more than right-winged, they personally attack democrats. Most of their news is also butchered as well. You should get your news from CNN. They're mostly unbiased, although in a few cases, they favor the democrats.

Better yet, watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Not only is it unbiased, it's hilarious!!!

Here is a short description of the Bill that was passed awhile back, but more was added recently: U.S. House passes hate crime bill that Bush opposed | Lifestyle | Reuters. I've been watching Fox News ever since I have been able to receive it in Delaware, it is proven that whoever disses Fox News or any of the anchors on the show clearly have never seen a minute of it (no offense).

I do not want to start a political war in these forums, there is Daily Kos and Huffington Post for those things, but I'm just putting out what I've heard and read about lately dealing electronic communications.

And this relates to Windows 7 ..... how? Will it protect Windows 7 from hate crimes comitted by Apple fanatics?
