Solved I can't find the .ost file in Outlook 2007 on Windows 7

I have a very large email stuck in my outbox and cannot delete it. I held down shift and delete on the message and it deleted part of it but not all. It is not allowing me to send any other mail.

I have tried to find by unhiding hidden files and followed this path:

Users/name/Appdata/Roaming/Microsoft/Outlook and the .ost file is not there.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Under COntrol Panel, click Folder Options, click View and make sure "Show hidden files, folders or drves" radio box is ticked. Also make sure the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) box is un-ticked.



And for Outlook 2007 your .pst & ost file should be in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

Also the file is corrupted. You can tell by the squiggly symbol next the document.

OK, I see your pst which is 5.7gig! I would suggest you look at the links I provided for repairing the pst file and see if that helps to fix your delete problem. Let us know.

Edit: You may also want to look through this as well - You may experience performance problems when you are working with items in a large .pst file or in a large .ost file in Outlook 2007

And make sure you have the latest updates/service packs for your office suite.

What do you mean by both scans? And that the files aren't there? I see the pst file.

This explains exactly what happened, I think. Do you think if I start with cleaning out emails and reducing the size will help? I still need to be able to delete the email from the outbox. I also cannot send any email out and it is seriously hindering my ability to work.

What version of Windows 7 do you have? 32 or 64-bit?

If you have a 64-bit OS the Scanpst.exe will be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12

Again it's Scanpst.exe NOT "scanexe"
