logins won't work on some programs

Hello again,Thanks for answering my previous post.
I would like to ask about another problem I am having. So far , a couple of web site that I use daily will not allow me to login since I have begun using my new Dell .
One is my banks online site, I tried using IE8 and IE9 and Google Chrome, Firefox, & iGoogle all with different results.
The other is a forum for my website host.
Can you help ?

I guess what I mean to say is that my online bank in win 7 ie 8 &9 using Google will allow me to input my acct # and ask for password. Then will kick back to ask for acct # ,then password etc.....in an endless loop. Same with Google Chrome.
I can log in on my older pc Win XP home IE 8 with no problem.
As for the website forum , I cannot even use the sign in page( when I click on the "sign in "link , nothing happens.

Does that explain my problem any better ?

Yes. Are the types of websites you have trouble viewing all have "https:" instead of "http:" at the start after you do log in successfully on another pc? Here is an explantion of the difference: HTTP Secure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Note that the https sites use port 443 instead of port 80. Perhaps the Windows firewall the Dell has on it is blocking outgoing requests to port 443. If the Dell is connected through a separate router which the other PCs don't use, then that router could be blocking outbound connections to port 443. Temporarily turn off the firewall on the Dell (and the one in it's separate router if it's using one) as a test to see if it might be a firewall issue.

Also, sometimes non-Microsoft security programs sometimes block outgoing stuff under the assumption that they are "calling home" so you might temporarily turn off any non-Microsoft security program on the Dell.

Hello Again, Thanks for the info Roncerr, I looked at the pages that im trying to log onto . The banking page is HTTPS. I went to my firewall and made sure that the ports(443 & 80) were open. I am only running McAfee AV and have turned it off and tried all with no success.
BTW , all pc's are running off the same router, so I can access my bank on the old pc and my wife can access the site on her pc( she also has a spare acct at same bank she can access.)
I also contacted the tech support for the banks site . they say that they can see my log ins and log offs on their servers, that would possibly mean that it could be some type of video block.
Thats all I have for now , maybe you'll have another idea.

I assume you made sure that the bank didn't confuse the logins from the other PCs with those from the Dell. If it really is just the Dell, and you turned off it's firewall and anti-virus, perhaps it's some sort of ad blocking. The HOSTS file should be clear of entries other than these two default lines:
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost #[IPv6]
(It may also have a bunch of lines each preceded by "#" or ";" . Those lines are ok since they are ignored by the system.)

Path shown above. You may have to set Folder View Options (Control Panel) to "Show hidden files".

Ok finally got to HOST files , nothing remotly like what you suggested in above post. I am very frustrated at this point and am thinking of sending DELL back and revamping old pc . Thanks for suggestions. I'll keep monitoring forum and will just use Mozilla for banking .

The reason I did not suggest resetting IE is that you said you tried other browsers. But I have had problems logging in to a local network site (not even https) with the only browser I have installed (IE8). I wasted a lot of time trying to understand the issue, finally gave up and tried resetting IE, including all personal settings. That fixed the problem; still don't know why: Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Reset (delete personal settings).
