How can I get a .filA file to play in Windows Media Player?

So I have a .filA clip from an old computer game, and I was wondering if there was a conversion software that would allow it to play in windows media player, or if it's just plain impossible. I'm working on getting a cap card for gameplay clips, and if anybody is curious to which game this file is from, it's Marathon (the first one). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I tried that before, but I got a different message this time.

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

Since I have a pretty good handle on codecs, If you were to upload a sample to mediafire.com,
I could test it and let you know if it can be decoded at all.
To upload to mediafire the sample needs to be less than 200MB.

EDIT, dont forget to grab the download URL so you can post it here.

The .mpg form or .filA form?

There would be no diffference.
The fact that the extension was changed has no effect on the contents of the file.

The file is to small to be a valid video.

The file is tagged 'SkaterPriest'
but it most likely contains instruction for the game to compile a video on the fly for your viewing.

Well the tag sounds right, because I use that username wherever "Skater" is taken. And the video should be a good 15 minutes long. How long do you think it would have to be to be a valid video? Because I swear I recorded it correctly. And since the game is so old, you only have very new players in the lobbies mostly because it's now freeware. So they're no help.

Your file is just 68kb. It takes 1024kb to make a single MB.
A 15min video would most likely be at a minimum, several MB in size.

Ok, I'll try and record another one, and I'll see what goes on from there. Thanks a ton man.
