Repeated crashes while playing any game with no BSOD

Hello,

I built a new PC and everything works great until I boot up a game. I've played: Battlefield 3, WoW, Dead Space, Batman Arkham City, and a few others. After anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 hour the screen goes black, pc powers down, and the system hard reboots.

What I have done so far:
MemTest: 5 passes with no errors
Formatted and Reinstalled the system
Updated Every Driver I can think to update
Run BF3 with only the SSD hooked up
Driver Verification (ran into an issue with Anti-Virus so I uninstalled it and removed the drivers, this was the only time I received a BSOD)
Checked CPU, PSU, and GPU temps (all well within normal operating temps)
Restored BIOS to factory defaults
Nothing is overclocked to my knowledge (the GPU is factory "Superclocked")
Originally I suspected the PSU (it was making a rattling noise/buzz with just the fan running) so I RMA'ed it back to Corsair and they replaced it with a brand new PSU in the same model

I'm sure I left something out, if I remember more I will post again.

I followed the BSOD Posting thread, not sure if there are any dumps in there. I could not find any in the C:\windows\minidumps folders. If you need any more information or reports or anything please let me know and I will post it ASAP.

Any help regarding this issue would very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

-xTko

Generic steps to troubleshoot.
I note you have already tried some.

If / when you get a BSOD we will tell you how to upload the DMP files.

There are many reasons why a PC " behaves" this way.
These annoying " gliches" may be caused by an overloaded hard drive, overworked CPU, Malware, running 2 AV 's, unnecessary data, Browser addons or you may have unnecessary programs running in the background etc....

* Make sure that you are not over heating.

* Make sure PSU is working properly.

* If overclocking, restore to original.

*Have you checked in Event Viewer?
Type eventvwr in search.
Go to the Windows Logs > application > in the left hand column note anything red
that relates to the problem.
Please note the event ID, and the source codes and tell us what they are.

* Go to search, type device manager and look for any yellow warning markers.

*Try in safe mode; report back if it works properly.
Start your computer in safe mode

*Clean boot. You may discover what is causing your problem.

Thanks for the quick reply,

* Make sure that you are not over heating.

I checked again to make sure nothing was overheating. Everything checked out.

* Make sure PSU is working properly.

Not sure exactly how to check the PSU is working properly, any advice would be appreciated.

* If overclocking, restore to original.

Nothing is overclocked.

*Have you checked in Event Viewer?

I saved all the Red Event IDs and zipped them for you.

* Go to search, type device manager and look for any yellow warning markers.

I had previously checked the Device Manager and made sure that nothing has a warning on it.

I'll do some more hardware testing and get back to you with the results.

Thanks again.

I'm currently running ESET AV 5.0. It's the only AV I've had installed since my last format (about 5 days ago). I used the Programs and Features uninstall from Control Panel to remove it.

The PC runs fine in safe mode without any issue. I cannot play any games while in safe mode to try it though. PC runs fine out of safe mode too, unless I try and play a game and then it restarts after 5 - 60 minutes.

I did a clean boot with everything disabled but Microsoft and the restarts still happen.

Currently I am running FurMark GPU test. No artifacts, GPU topped out at 86C and fan is only running at 61%. It's been 30 minutes and ill run it for an hour.

Update:

PC never crashed while running the GPU test. Topped out at 86C and fan speed was only 61%.

I decided to format again and do a fresh install with nothing but the basics. Mouse, KB, video drivers, and Windows Updates. Stored a game on another HDD and booted from there. PC still restarts after 5 - 60 minutes of gaming. It even restarted while running Netflix.

I still have yet to get a BSOD even with auto restart turned off.

I looked though the Event log on the fresh install and it still the same Event IDs as before. I looked under windows logs > system and found:

If it is a reboot without BSOD, looks like a power problem. Did you have the BSODs before replacing the PSU? Just to make sure, how about running off your onboard graphics and try to play a game (very low quality and maybe less than 20fps, but...) for a while. Power draw will be little and the chances are if there is a problem with the PSU, it won't be loaded enough to crash the PC. Furmark is not a good stresstester for post GT400 cards unless u somehow manage to disable throttling.

For troubleshooting purposes are you prepared to give up Gaming for a period of time?

I can't game right now anyways so I don't have anything to lose. I just want to play games and not think "I wonder if what I did worked...*PC crashes*"

how about running off your onboard graphics and try to play a game (very low quality and maybe less than 20fps, but...) for a while

I'll try that out and post back the results.

Update:

I was doing some reading about my PSU and my GPU because it still feels like a power issue. The minimum requirements for my GPU are 550W at 38AMPs on the 12v (sorry I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to electricity). The 12v on my current PSU(1000W) is 40AMP Maximum. I'm not sure but it sounds like I need a new PSU. Is a two AMP buffer enough?

If the GPU is the only thing on the 12v rail no. 2 amps is an extra 5% and your gpu cant use more than rated unless you are overclocking.

Win 7 and modern mobo's are very memory sensitive. The above should not make a difference but I have seen Identical memory from the same mfr, with the same specs, but not purchased at the same time, cause instability.
