Solved Changed my motherboard and im wondering if i can avoid format

What are choices under Storage Config?
you can see them at second screenshot.

I see for the first time you have 1 TB HD, which may require having a smaller OS target partition for installer to see it. Have you tried another HD yet?
i formatted that HD more then 5 times and just one with the new mb and i never had a single problem, plus i dont have another hd at the moment.
What is the exact failure message or behavior again? Try now.
here you are.

What is the exact failure message or behavior again? Saying it "stuck at ACPI core revision" isn't enough. Try now.

You may be able to get around such an ACPI error in the ACPI config settings.

This is after you get the prompt to "Press Any key to boot DVD" then files load, then it hangs at the Win7 Startup Animation?

And the Ubuntu and Partition Wizard Linux boot disks both hang at the exact same ACPI: Core revision?

iI dont get any "press any key to boot dvd" it will just boot it,load the files and then it will stuck at startup screen without the windows 7 colours animations just the letters.
Ubuntu and partition wizard hangs at the exact same ACPI core revision as you said.

Try the install.

Likely the two Linux disks revealed the exact hang which is hidden in Win7 install by the boot animation.

You always treat a new motherboard as a "new" motherboard and enter the configuration setup FIRST. This gives the BIOS a chance to recognize and setup the hardware. I've replaced MBs and as long as it's the same model, Windows should start then re-load the drivers. You'll need to do this anyway to get your keyboard back during boot. Set the Legacy USB support back on if you want to be able to use the keyboard during boot.

Carwiz can you suggest settings changes or setup in BIOS to avert this install hang?

When i installed the new MB the first thing i did was to enter bios setup and reset the cmos, then the problems started.About the keyboard at legacy usb support it has a third option: "ONLY BIOS SETUP" with that option i can use my keyboard at the boot as well ;)

I don't know anything about LenOx other than I don't care to learn. ;)

Do you by chance have a usb hub connected? Specifically the keyboard and or mouse through a hub? I remember seeing this as an issue and googled this:

I would test the HD first using maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan.

Then use the same CD to wipe the HD to clear the boot sector.

Next boot the WIn7 DVD, choose Custom Install, use Drive Options if you want to partition, or just click Next and Win7 will partition for you with a 100mb boot partiition and the rest as your OS partition.

Adapt these steps to get a perfect reinstall: Reinstalling Windows 7

i tested my hd about a week ago and it didnt have any problem.im installing windows 7 at the moment and i will right away install the drivers when im done since they might be the cause for my unstable pc.

Also what about usb legacy support option should i change it back to enabled or leave it as it is?
