Solved Can a Raid 1+0 configuration work in AHCI mode?

My Computer Configuration:
(1) 128GB Solid State Drive (windows os)
(4) 1TB (set in a raid 1+0 configuration)

Here is the MYSTERY:
I am currently booting to my ssd in ACHI Mode.
yet the 4 hard drives show up as a single hard drive with a capacity of 2TB in explorer.

The Question is:
are the 4 hard drives actually working in a raid 1+0 configuration?
Is this even possible in AHCI Mode?
if this is not possible, then what is happening?

when I change the Sata configuration to Raid mode and try to boot to the SSD i get this error message:

Status:0xc000000f
Info: the boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible

4 hard drives in a raid 10 will show up as 2TB. It is composed as follows:

2 pairs of mirrored (raid 1) disk with a raid 0 stripe across the disks. Each mirrored pair is 1TB and you stripe across two of them giving you 2 TB.

Yes, it is probably working.

AHCI or IDE mode should not matter. Are you setting the SSD device to raid mode? If so, that is the source of your error - you need at least two drives to do any type of raid.

so does the Sata configuration have to be in RAID mode in order for it to work properly...
or is it okay to be in AHCI mode?

Need more information. When you say you have the 4 HDD in a raid 10 configuration, how did you configure it? Through the BIOS or ...? Filling in your system spec might help as well.

I set it up when i was installing windows on my ssd, and yes, i configured it through bios.

it shows up in the explorer and works properly, i just wondered if its okay that the sata configuration is in aHCI mode... thats all.

When the BIOS is set to RAID, non-member disks like the SSD, defaults to AHCI anyway.

If the RAID is working, it's fine.

Yes.

raid as far as I know includes all feature sets of AHCI except hotplug.

So NCQ and trim should work.
