I have had a blue screen problem for a very long time, and I decided I'm done with it and now I'm posting here. It happens pretty much no matter what I am doing, but more so when I am in games. I have reinstalled the video drivers completely several times and I have also tried updating the motherboard drivers, neither of which helped. I have noticed it generally showing up as atikmdag.sys as the faulty driver, but when I ran it through BlueScreenView it showed a couple more drivers. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 32 Bit
- the original installed OS on the system? XP I believe.
- an OEM or full retail version? Full Retail
- OEM = came pre-installed on system
- Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

- What is the age of system (hardware)? A couple years besides the graphics card that is a HD Radeon 5770.
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) A Yearish and once when my hard drive crashed

DMP files and performance check:

Alright, that was going to be my next step. Update your display card (or re-install the latest driver if you already have it) by following the steps below.

1. Download and install Driver Sweeper
2. Download the latest driver for your display card
3. Click Start Menu
4. Right Click My Computer
5. Click Manage
6. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
7. Click the + next to Display adapter
8. Right click your display/graphics card device
9. Click Uninstall
10. Check the box to Delete driver software for the device
11. Click OK
12. Restart your computer in safe mode
13. Run Driver Sweeper, select display card manufacturer's drivers, analyze, clean
14. Restart your computer
15. Install the latest drivers

After doing that, I just blue screened again, but now Windows doesn't recognize my native resolution, all of the aero effects and borders around programs are solid instead of transparent, and it won't launch any games.

I added the last dump.

Could you check the dates of those drivers I asked you to update? For some reason, your .dmp files seem corrupted and the timestamps cannot be verified.

As to your latest dmp, it was caused by a system file with your Creative Audio, Creative Hardware Abstract Layer Driver, and Creative OS Services drivers in the memory stack. Hence why I would like to know what the timestamps of those drivers actually are on your system. The .dmp file shows them as being 2007, 2010, and 2010 respectively.

You may want to re-install the driver again following those steps. Sounds like something went a little caca. You may also want to uninstall any AMD software through add/remove programs in control panel. Uninstalling AMD install manager if it is on your system should uninstall all AMD software and drivers. Then use driver sweeper to clean up the rest in Safe Mode.

I'm having real troubles with the sound drivers.

It seems like your sound drivers were corrupted somehow. Have you tried uninstalling them? You can use Driver Sweeper to uninstall those, as well. Just analyze and clean Creative drivers after uninstalling through Device Manager. Then try installing the latest updates from the manufacturer.

Ok, I was running it with the stock drivers and I had to go so I'll update tomorrow. But when I blue screened before I left it wasn't blue it was bright yellow/orange if you want the dmp I'll get it to you tomorrow.

It looked just like a blue screen but it was orange.

Now, in device manager it says this for creative game port: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

But, I can't find the drivers anywhere especially since, the drivers from the creative website aren't working.

I uninstalled it, got another atikmdag.sys blue screen, and when I try and update those drivers it still says setup does not support my device or whatever. Also, under other devices in the device manager, it says there are no drivers installed for my PCI input device, I don't know if that is relevant.
