GTX260 bad in Windows 7?

Some people inhere told me, that my videocard are to blame for the "error", that I don't see the new Windows 7 logo at boot, but instead seing the green squares moving from left to right as in Vista.
"Low resolution", "bad video performance" are some of the answers I have got. Is my videocard really that bad in Win7? In games I don't have any troubble.

It happens both in x86 and x64 from the very first boot when installing Windows 7. How do I come around this?

Or has it something to do with my monitor using a "wrong" resolution before Windows has loaded its drivers? (Samsung SyncMaster 2493HM)?

All cables connected correctly? I think there was a guy who forgot to use all the power cables

Let me ask you a quick question are you attempting to do an upgrade or is this a clean install?

Sven, I had this problem a little while back and found a very simple solution. When I had my PC hooked up to my 42" TV via an S-Video to Component adapter, I would get the Vista loading screen. However when I switched over to an HDMI hookup, the problem went away.

It is hooked up with HDMI cable, and I have also tried DVI, but it remains the same. Only vista squares.

I have installed Vista x64 driver for the monitor, but still no luck.

No.

Booted from USB-stick. When reach the stage to select drive to install to, I choose "format drive". Then installed clean on an empty drive.

I really don't get it :shock:

Try to install the monitor driver under vista comp. (right click the file, select properties and select compatibility)

Have tried that now. But it did not help either.
I guess it is not a driver-problem as I have the problem from the very first boot before Windows 7 is even installed. I give up

No, that is an older driver than the one I'm using right now:
GeForce ForceWare 190.15 Win 7 | Vista (64-bit) download from Guru3D.com

But again, I don't think it is a driver problem, as the "problem" is there BEFORE any drivers are installed, when installing Windows 7 from my USB-stick.

if you could post some Screens/Pictrues of your settings if would try to figure it out. Ever thought about an BIOS update?

You also had bad performance with other OS?

I don't have bad performance in Windows 7 or in games. It is only under boot, that I see "vista boot", green squares instead of the flag from Windows 7.
There is not much settings in BIOS to the graphic, some about OC which I don't use, and then if PCI or PCIe should be first attempted (selected is PCIe), all PCIe OC is disabled and Volt and Busspeed is set to Auto.

I really can't imagine how that looks?

Maybe you could try to update out of Windows 7 to Build 7600?

Well, just boot any PC with Vista on, then you will see green squares "running" from left to right, the same squares as in XP, but in XP they were blue.
I have tried 7600 also (like 7264 better, so restored back to this), and every single build since beta 2 has given me this boot-screen
