Solved Best Video Joiner recommendation

Could someone please recommend the best commercial Video Joiner?Thanks for your inputs.

I don't think I have ever heard of a commercial joiner.

Commercial video software is usually in one of these categories:

Players
Editors
Converters

Joining is usually a part of editing, so you need to look for editors.

You can spend hundreds or thousands on editors, but their joining functionality would be only a small part of what they do.

I can't imagine anyone buying an editor because it is the "best joiner".

You aren't likely to have much success trying to join an avi with an mp4 or wmv file, so you may need to think in terms of converters as well, if you want to join 2 files that are currently in different formats.

The Internet is full of reviews of both editors and converters, depending on how much you want to spend.

Thanks for the explanation. In other words, you have to convert the 2 files to be of the same format before you could join them. For instance, you CANNOT join an avi file with a wma file. Am I correct?

I have never been able to join files with differing formats. Try it yourself and see what happens. The program will just refuse to even start the process, in my experience.

They have to be more than just in the same format--they have to agree in other areas too--frame rate, sound, etc.

You lose a little bit of quality when you convert, but it might not be noticeable to your eye.

If you go out and shoot a video with a camera, it's no problem to cut out a section of it and then join the remaining 2 parts---it's easy because that video is all the same format, sound, frame rate, etc. Machete Lite is a great program for that, but it does not convert and it works only on AVI and WMV files.

But if you have 2 video clips from 2 different sources, they will probably differ in several ways, so you need to convert something.

Id recommend Format factory, it converts almost every file type whether its a video,music or picture file. when your done converting to the same file type, format factory has a video joiner feature. i have used it tons of times and i highly recommend it. its also free. heres a link

No Problem.There is also Microsoft's own Windows Live Movie Maker but the output from that is limited to WMV and it is slow.
