...Sometimes you just have to build another, even though you don't need it. It gets to where 'need' has nothing to do with it. Trust me, I'm experienced.

Yeah, that's the boat I found myself in two weeks ago. MicroCenter had the 2600K for $279 and were offering another $50 off if you bought it with a motherboard. My "old" Core i7 920 rig is now my backup computer.

Here's my new main rig, specs for both computers in "My System Specs":

That looks really good. And the SSD at 7.9 is excellent. I cannot get any of mine to show better than 7.8 - even on a 6Gb port. Not that it matters, but it is interesting.

Just as a science experiment...
You might try two things, leave the PC idle for a few hours or leave on the LogIn screen a few hours. I think that lets TRIM do its job, not sure. My M4 got a 7.7 WEI on a new install but after doing the above steps went to 7.9. some Intell SSDs won't go more than 7.8 however.

One of each, it was the 64GB which went up in WEI, I think size makes a difference only for memory size.

The read speeds are the same for the 64GB and the 128GB, the write speeds are the only difference. Write speed for the 64 is 95, the 126 is 175.

Show us your Maxxmem score prof. I don't think I seen a RAM with 7.9 before.

This is on a drive I just cloned from my main system as a backup. An 80GB Toshiba, 5400 RPM, 2.5" lappy drive.

EDIT: Oh - I see that there are some of those and they are indeed different. I will check and see how to get that.
