I have to ask, as I have not heard about this at all:

I have a x64 OS right now (and want to KEEP it!). Is there a way to run a program (that only runs in x32) in a x32 compatibility mode or something?

If you are running Win7 x64, you can run just about any 32bit program.
If it runs on Win7 x86, it will 99.9% sure run on Win7 X64

And x64 is the best choice. Win7 x64 runs smooth as hell on 1,5gb of ram.

Hope this helped. have fun with X64.

P.S.
(The other way around is not possible. You cannot run 64bit programs on 32bit Win7, )

Just reread your question.

Exception to my earlier answer is when the program wan'ts to install it's drivers, then you stand a good chance it won't work.

So you have a 32bit program that doesn't work in x64?
Have you tried it on x32 Win7 and did that work? Or did you run it on Vista, or XP?
Maybe it's not compatible with Windows 7 all together.

You guys misunderstand.

For work, I have to use Yahoo! Site Builder. It turns out that this WILL NOT RUN ON X64 SYSTEMS!!!!!!!!!!

Believe me, I tried. I called tech support, and spent like a half hour before the guy asked what I was running. He said, "Oh, it doesn't run on x64 systems. Only x32 bit".

I was like WHAT?!?!?!!?
I really was shocked. It did not say ANYWHERE in their site that it would not work.

Installing it to the x32 folder was one of my first tries, to no avail.

Sorry, I have to get used to the system here.
It's kinda funny to see a question like that from a "poweruser". :D

I know you can run x32 on x64, but not vice versa. I know that quite well. :p

My problem is a program that only runs in a x86 architecture.

And the system here is really good. But just because someone is a Guru, does NOT mean that they can't or don't ask questions. Theirs are just different. And a lot of the time, everyone's combined knowledge can solve it.
Just because I am a power user, does not mean I don't have lots of questions. I am only 17, and still learning a lot. I make no claims as to knowing more than most.

I already edited my answer, saying I reread (misread) your question.
I realized, you might mean something else, hence the edit.

But to help you further on the question, does that Yahoo prog work on win7 32bit?

LordBob...sadly Windows x64 doesn't have an x86 compatiblity mode...back when Windows 7 was in beta testing I emailed the Windows 7 team and asked if their was any chance for a just for x86 compatibility mode...looks like they will not make that happen

If a program doesn't run on X64 systems (cisco vpn client is a good example), the only thing that you could do is run a 32 bit virtual machine.

I saw this on Yahoo site:

Processor 2.4GHz 400MHz
Memory 512MB RAM 64MB RAM
Resolution 1024x768 800x600

Does it run on 32bit Windows 7?

Have you tried installing and running with XP compatibility checked?

It does indeed run on Windows Seven x86. Runs perfectly.
I have been using a VM, but it just bugs me. I will probably just partition off like 50 gigs, and put x32 on it.

I will try compatibility first, but I can't right now.

Have you thought about using a virtual pc? It would allow you to run win xp within win 7.
