BSOD, i suspect hal.dll may be the cause

i have attached the dump file. i have also used bluescreenview.exe and this is what i got

i have also ran System File Checker and nothing was wrong. what worries me is the bug check code 0x00000124 supposedly it is hardware error.

so if it is hardware, can someone help me find which hardware it is? and yes my cpu is OCed but i have already tested stability so it is fine

There is no way to test while you are overclocked. You may have been stable once, but you are having BSOD'S now.

Of note these drivers are probably not the cause but are from as far back as 2005 and relate to Overclocking. This one at least needs to be made current. Related to RTCore64.sys MSI Afterburner from Micro-Star Int'l Co. Ltd. Yours 2005!!

After you revert back to stock and have updated if you are still BSOD'ing upload the DMPS

How To Find Drivers:

- search Google for the name of the driver

well i just finished a 3hr stability test for my cpu and it was fine, i will probably do a longer one sometime this weekend overnight just to make sure stability is good. so would i still have to revert back to stock settings?

also about the msi afterburner i have to update the latest version? i just checked their website i i currently have the up to date version.

and to update drivers i simply just uninstall the program related to these drivers and install the latest versions?

Yes, revert to stock settings to ensure that anything else that's not related to your overclock isn't the problem.

If the rtcore64.sys (from 2005) is the newest version you may have to remove it for it cant know how to work in win 7 given it was written at least 5 years prior to its release.

Good question. One way you can prevent it from loading is to rename it rtcore64.bak

It may be in programs and features as part of a utility package. Im not sure.

Good job. I would only worry about the IOCBIOS.SYS that needs to be updated.

Try renaming it to *.BAK so it doesnt load. See if anything complains.
