I bought a SP2009 monitor with a built in webcam, it's 19" and can't find a driver for the webcam anywhere.

I'm running windows 7 32 bit. Does anyone know where I can find it, or other suggestions how to get the webcam to work.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Dell Support?

http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/uk/en/ukdhs1/ProductSelector

Just select your region and your service tag and Dell should offer you all the drivers for your computer.

I didn't ring yet no, just seeing if anybody on here would know.

I don't think there is a service tag on this monitor, not one that I can see anyway.

I have found a driver with the monitor name but only work's in xp and vista, tried to use it in compatibility mode, still nothing :(

Hi TimeK4, Is this the driver you downloaded ? Drivers and Downloads | Dell [United States] this contains the webcam driver this must be installed in compatibility mode with full admin rights ;)

If I may be permitted a stupid question:

Have you attached the USB cable?

It has a built in webcam, which it should be detecting automatically but it's not.

It needs a USB cable connected so that the webcam will work. It won't work with just a VGA or DVI cable connected.

Yes. The webcam may be guilt into the monitor, but it is still a USB webcam. No USB cable between computer and monitor, no webcam.

Number 2 under "camera not detected" here pretty much sums it up,
