Is Fear 3 a good game?

Some of my friends were talking about it and some of said it was good and some said it was bad, I just wanted to make sure its worth buying or download

When I played it co-op it was fun (one as Fettel & one as Point Man) although it was short. I tried playing solo and it was just "ok". It's definitely not as scary as the first 2 so if you are looking for a good scare while playing I would skip it. Instead I would go with Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Now that game is &%&%^&$^%$ scary!

I played the 3 of them and I liked this one the least... + 1 on being less scary and I hate getting scare

I would have to agree, fear 3 was much less intense than the first 2. Amnesia is absolutely terrifying though for such a simple game

The game is good but its shorter and not as scary as its predecessors.
Before buying also see if psn/xbox has a demo of it or you can look up some game play videos of it and see if you will enjoy it.

Hi.
Does fear 3 have manual/quick save options or is it purely checkpointed?

My dad just bought me this game last night. I haven't opened the box yet, but I looked up the review score, and it seems to be getting a high score (Gamespot users are giving it a 7.7 right now). Is this game really worth it? And Chip's question seemed legit. Does this game use the "checkpoint" system, or can I save it anytime I want? I really don't like checkpoint based games (such as LFD 1 & 2).

Okay, but does it let you save it anytime you want, or does it use a checkpoint system? The last 2 in the series let me save it anytime I wanted, so I'm assuming it lets you do that in #3.

There is much more action in Fear 3 than the first two games. So if you like the action in the games you would not be disappointed with this.
