Random BSODs, everytime caused by netio.sys

Good day

In last few weeks I got about 10-12 BSODs, all pointing to NETIO.SYS. It happening only while playing World of Tanks but totally randomly. Sometimes I can play for few days without it but yesterday 3 in hour. I tested everything - PC was running for 10 hours in OCT + Inter Burn test with no error, 4 hours of memtes - no error. Updated every driver to its newest verision aswell as OS and still happening. Temperatures are OK. In attachment I am posting what WinDbg showing from minidump.

Three issues.

1-asacpi.sys
Asacpi.sys

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

Scroll down to the utilities category, then scroll down to the "atk0110 driver for windowsxp/vista/windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).

Download and install it.

Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers to check and make sure that the asacpi.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (not before).

How To Find Drivers:

- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

3-Netio.sys. Usually when netio.sys is implicated it is actually the installed malware. In your case ESET. I would remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials at least to test.

Ad. 1/2: I have Rampage Formula ( probably Win indicates it wrong ) and thought downloaded every lastest drivers from ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download Rampage Formula but found that I didnt installed one utility - "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Win7 32&64-bit"

Now I checked folder with drivers you mentoned and didnt found any older driver then 2009 - Asacpi.sys was updated when that utility was installed. Hope it will help - going to test it.

Ad. 3: I tried it when changing to ESS5 from ESS4 with completly removing from PC and it was still happening.

I will write a post if it falls again or if it doesnt fall for atleast 4-5 days.

Hmmm 3 BSODs last 2 days. :-(

Maybe when I will have time for it I will try re-install OS.

I swear by them. If you continue to crash please upload the DMPS. Without them we are flying blind.

ALL three of these were Related to epfwwfp.sys ESET Personal Firewall driver. I would remove ESET and replace with MSE at least to test.

Hmmm as I said I tested it when upgrading to newer verision for few days it was still happening. But okay will do it when I finish current work.

I am as surprised as you are (I use ESS 5.x). To have three point to it is unusual.

Okay I removed ESS and for 3 days and no BSOD. So I guess I removed it uncompletly or bad when upgrading. Any suggestions what and why can cause falling ESS firewall driver that much that OS fall too?

Well since you havent had another crash chances are it is the cause. ONly way to find out if you use it is to re-install. If it crashes yolu know what you have to do.
