BSOD When Using Chrome 0x3B & 0xD1 Caused by Netio.sys

The issues started after the wife accepted one of those umm... "Free Gifts" from AVG in this case, the (Driver Updater Software)... I can't fault her too much since they do look genuine, they come from the AVG Antivirus Notification pop up Window itself... I see them all the time but ignore them knowing better than to believe they are actually free or benign. nothing against avg but that's just how it is... ^^^ This is Important Because...

After said installation, I noticed the machine was acting strange and Ran a scan with avg it picked up some stuff, not much but enough to let me know I had some viruses... as it turned out I had MONDO viruses and Rootkits and I ended up using a lot of different tools to remove them all.

in the end, this BSOD is what's left of that mayhem but I can't seem to get it figured out...
It only happens if Chrome is running and it never happens in Safe mode with Chrome running.

I have tried to see if the problem is in a corrupted or Missing win file so I did an - SFC / Scannow on an Elevated CMD Prompt

I scoured the internet looking for someone in a similar position as I, but it seems that my case as far as this Netio.sys 0x3b is pretty unique or at least real rare.

There are other things that are happening with the PC that aren't as big as the BDSO but still worrisome since idk if they are related to it... For example, when I try to Play Diablo 3 100% of the time I get Error 34200 Which means that the servers are not available. I checked the servers they are up... so if its unrelated to the BSOD its at least a leftover "Gift" from my friend the mega virus.

I Would appreciate any assistance with this matter, I'm not anywhere near a tech-savvy as most but I usually can handle my own BSOD issues this one is a doozy to me thou. Thanks in Advanced.

Pardon my ignorance thou. I Honestly don't know what I should expect out of this action.

TBH I'm just so curious. If you're willing... could u say what line of thought that lead you to Rebuild Indexing.

There was a problem with Wsearch, as noted in the event.log file.

Did rebuilding the index help?

Hi acidzero2002,

If you're really sure your pc is not infected anymore, then I suggest to reinstall AVG. It looks to be causing the crashes.
If you're not 100% sure your pc is not infected anymore, then I suggest to have your pc checked out at Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Help Forum - BleepingComputer.com

There was a problem with Wsearch, as noted in the event.log file.

I Went back to Normal mode yesterday after the index Rebuild and also Uninstalled the AMD Drivers completely and reinstalled them as well as running a repair on AVG. and I can't say if it's because of the Index Rebuild or the Avg Repair but I have been using chrome since (Albeit very lightly) and there hasn't been any crashed thus far.

I will take the advice, thou going by their own guidelines looks like it will take a few days before they get to my post at Bleeping Computer. When I'm 100% Sure to be virus free I will Remove/Reinstall AVG.

Thank You Wither 2 and Axe0, I really appreciate you taking the time of your day to help me find out what is wrong with my Pc.
I'll keep this open a few days longer to further test and use Chrome and be sure I'm crash free and then I'll mark it as Solved.

Well, it was looking good for like 2 days but the BSOD still there... before I came back here I made sure I'm virus free, I went ahead and Uninstalled AVG and Re-Installed it. Even so, the BSOD persists.

You're right! Here.

and I'm also sending this pic because I have never had anything open a CMD Prompt every single time and it seems shady that AMD is installing or trying to do something every time for like 12 - 18 secs.

For some reason, the event log wasn't included.

Do you have this path- C:\Program Files\REACHit\packages\858cbfde-2d56-4d83-8b32-63801dd79307\)

To see if it's a Chrome issue, I suggest using IE 11 for a while to see if you get the same problem.

I redid the DM Collector in Safemode maybe that helps get all of the things in it.

and I do not have that path.

I will try to use IE Instead of Chrome from now on to see if it happens in IE also.

In the latest event log, you're getting this error repeatedly-

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\DR0.

This is the Dell solution for that problem (note that the log doesn't say anything about the write cache which is noted in the Dell page)-

Access Denied
