Where can I download WMP 12

I messed up my vista media player trying to download WMP11.

I just upgraded to Windows 7 and now I don't have a working media player.

Where can I download WMP12? Are what do I need?

I thought that WMP12 comes with Win7. It should be on your Win7 disk and there should be no need to download it.

In case I have that wrong....

Try Microsoft Update or here, I think it comes with the feature pack http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx

After installing W7 I still had my old player that came with Vista.
I tried downloading WMP 12 from Microsoft and I got a message it is not compatible with my software.

Good news I have my old media player working but I can't download WMP 12. When I try to run it I get a message system incompatible.

Well still don't have WMP12 but the player I have is working.
Planning on calling Microsoft about slow boot time and will ask about WMP12 as well.

Regarding the slow boot - did you check your startup programs? Security suites like Norton or McAfee can add a lot of boot time (although you need those). MSE is a lot faster. Also gadgets/sidebar are slow to boot. In addition you should disable everything in the startups that you do not absolutely need - which is probably most of the programs. If you post a picture of your startup situation, I will be glad to help you sort them out. Use WinPatrol ( BillP Studios - WinPatrol 2010 ) that is a lot more convenient than msconfig. Enlarge the window enough so that they all fit.
