Thank you for posting back to let us know!

Your thought of contacting the developer to add that option is a good idea, maybe a volume control also, and a little more information on how the volume works.

You could point to this thread as backup, and hopefully s/he will agree.

Aegean,

The version of M8 Free Clipboard that I'm using is V12.02

If you launch the M8 Free Clipboard program, click "Tools", then click "Options" from the drop-down list, it takes you to the Options panel. On the left-hand side there is a box followed by "Sound when new clips are captured". Make sure that box is UNCHECKED, and the "ding" sound will go away.

Your welcome Scott!

Don't beat on yourself too hard. Windows SevenForums etiquette would like thread starters to mark their threads solved when a solution has been reached, but the Admins/Mods don't make it a requirement.

It helps others save time when they are looking for a solution similar to a problem they are having, and they see the green check-mark.

It is only recently that they added the "Mark Thread Solved" feature to allow the Thread Starters to mark the thread for themselves
I tried looking for that feature on some of my old threads, but it may be removed after a certain period of time.
You can always go to the exclamation triangle to the far upper right of your post to report back to the Admins/Mods.

Something I learned just recently. The ability to give rep is removed from a thread after 28 days.

And something I just learned now, I didn't know anything about "Rep" points...

I tried just now to give "rep" points to earlier posters in this Thread, but it has been more than 28 days for all but yours, there's no "button" to add "rep" in the upper right hand corner of the older posts.

I will do better next time!

I had the same problem. It started suddenly. I don't know what changed.
The problem was global to Windows, not just Office.
Any time I copied via a right-click it made a noise.
It helpfully chose what was arguably the most annoying sound in its repertoire.
I would have preferred something more pleasant (like, say, fingernails scraping on a blackboard).
I went to Control Panel -> Sound -> Sounds tab
First I tried selecting "No sounds" from the Sound Scheme box. That solved the problem, but it's somewhat of an overkill if you want to be notified about new email, etc.
I discovered that the sound I was hearing was called Windows Critical Stop.wav.
I went back to the Windows default sound scheme
I clicked on "Critical Stop" in the Program Events pane and set that to No Sound"
I then saved that modified sound scheme under a new name.

That solved my problem. I don't know why Windows suddenly decided to classify a copy as a "Critical Stop" event, but I'm afraid that question is above my pay grade.
I probably will miss being informed about some genuine "cricial stop", but it's well worth it to me.
Best of luck

UPDATE:

I have a small Clipboard program called "M8 Free Clipboard" that I rarely use, but this is where the "ding" sound was coming from. I disabled it in the M8 Free Clipboard program and the problem is solved!

Thanks everyone for all the replies,

Scott

I came to this thread looking for a solution to the same problem. Windows 7 is so....erm.....musical and it was making me insane. I figured out that I still had to disable sounds in Outlook to prevent mail messages from dinging, but could not get the copy/paste "ding" to stop. I tested it in Sounds and it was definitely "Windows Ding", despite the fact that I had no action set to use that sound. I thought it was my CRT app, but then it happened in IE too. It was the same clipboard program you had, Scott333--M8. Turned off the bell. Now I can still get audio feedback for the small number of things I really need them for (meeting reminders, mainly.)

System Beeps?

I'm not sure if this is the correct solution but I find that disabling System Beeps gets rid of many of those annoying beeps.

Open Registry Editor then navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Sound

Click on "Sound" in the left pane

Click on "Beep" in the right pane. Change the Value Data to "no"

Click "OK"

Exit Registry Editor.

In Windows 7:

1. Press Windows key or Start button
2. Type "sound"
3. Under Control Panel, select "Change system sounds". The Sounds tab of Sound Control Panel item will open.
4. Select "Default Beep" (scroll down)
5. At the bottom under "Sounds", select "(None)"

I was experiencing something similar to this. It turned out that it was caused by the 'ClipClip Pro v2.4.5874' program that I had installed recently to add Clipboard history capability. The annoying sound problem when cutting or copying text can easily be corrected by doing the following:

Configuration
General 'Tab'
Uncheck 'Audio notifications (sound effects)'
