what does this time indicate?

The time it takes your computer to boot up.

i mean to say .. will that indicate the speed of the pc? and what should be the approximate boot time for a PC so that it could be said normal pc?

Hi,

No, not neccessarily - all PC's are different. It depends on the harware components as well as the software installed to run at bootup. A slow computer within no startup items could boot in 30s, but so could a very fast computer that laods many items during startup.

That's not bad. Try disabling programs from starting up in msconfig and you will get an even better time.

Welcome to Seven Forums auramancer. That is the exact number I had when using a HDD. I too do not disable things I need just for a better number A few seconds on boot are not worth disabling things I want to run, IMHO. A Guy

After a few tweaks and lot of time I went from 65 secs to about 40 secs in my laptop That's just great until I realized that at one reboot per day only in 2014 I will start to "recover" the time I spent in this process of improving boot!
