Ok, complete nubness.

Moved house, set up my PC in a drunken state and... I plugged my monitor into the FR socket on a Logitech X-530 and vice versa.

I know the main fuse blew for the 5.1 (I at least now get a token light (I'm alive!) on the system itself since i replaced it) but for the life of me I cant get any sounds. I've tested with another (even) older 5.1 I had kicking about, my sound card still works, my GFX card still works, but no sound when i plug the 530 in.

I know its cheap gear, but I'd rather not buy a new one if it all it takes is another fuse inside the box, any clues?

If the speakers do not work, its hard to say what else is wrong. The fuse is supposed to blow before damage to internal components but there are cases where that is not the case.

As you moved, doublecheck all the speaker connections and the connections to the PC to make sure everything is wired up correctly.

Unfortunately, most PC speaker systems are in the "throw away" category as repair costs can easily exceed the cost of a new speaker system (if you can even find someplace that will fix it).

Aww man you just typed what I thought, I only liked that set for the "Girlfriend at home? Headphone socket at the front" or "Girlfriend out? Hello neighbors!" ease of it all =)

Oh well, there's always next payday.

Cheers,
