Solved Unable to boot from disc

Yesterday evening I think it was after I ran the clean command. I think since then all I get when I boot up is being told to put a boot from a disc. I tried to reinstall W7, which install fine, but it wouldn't boot up for the first time. I changed the boot order, as you said to do and run those commands

I get the blue screen when I just tried to reinstall w7, twice. Also when I changed the disk type, could that have anything to do with it?

It says clearly that the HD is still GPT formatted. This means you did not run the Convert MBR command after Diskpart Clean command as repeatedly instructed.

The inattention to detail is disturbing in such complicated cases where we rely on you to execute commands precisely and exactly as given.

On the second screen of booted Win7 installer, select Repair My Computer.

From Recovery Tools list option, choose Command Line and type each command followed by Enter:

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SEL DISK 0 (confirm from the list this is the number of the correct HD, by size)
CLEAN
CONVERT MBR
EXIT

Now try install following these steps exactly to Clean Install Windows 7.

I'm absolutely sure I fido run the command, as you said. I'll try it in a bit.

Ok, I followed the instructions exactly, and double checked before I did anything. It was installing then the blue screen came up.

Carefully remove all but 2gb RAM to try install. Make sure to guard against static shock by touching metal on the case before touching sticks.

Next test your RAM using Memtest86+ for 5-6 passes or overnight to isolate bad stick or slot as shown in blue link tutorial. Swap RAM sticks, check for debris in slots with magnifying glass under strong light.

The RAM is in two 4GB cards. How long will each test take? (I'll let it run until 6 or 7 passes)

Try unplugging one stick to try install again. This is a very common install issue and you have a RAM error.

So wait, are you saying to run the RAM test or try and install windows with one card removed?

Go ahead and finish the test first. But as I said this is a common install issue to remove a RAM stick, which is why I listed it first in the steps.

Ok, I'll leave the test overnight. I'll report back when I've done four tests, or when I get an error.

Be sure as well that the EFI Boot disk is still removed from Boot order.

It's list as UEFI, that's it isn't it? You said earlier that it should be third or lower, or disabled, I'll disable it, ok?

I was wondering if I need to run a 4th test, as I'm on the third test now (2 passes so far), and no other errors. As everything appears to fine I was unsure if its worth running a 4th test.
